I still think that if the whole new 007 thing is genuine, that something plot wise will have James take it back at some point, but then he'll die and the whole James Bond name will become a codename along with the 007 designation.
I wish they'd done this ages ago, it would put a fun spin on all the previous movies, and would have made more sense in the long run.

The best spot for it in mind was near the start of Casino Royal. Just one line from Dench along the lines of "How does the Bond ID always manage to be given to the degenerate 00's?" While glaring unapproving at "James".
There was talk back around the time of Casino Royal that Bond was a codename,....especially when Dench continued as M after Brosnan,.....but then Skyfall & Spectre cemented the fact that Bond really was Bond

...as what was said earlier, I have no problem having female leads in movies,...create a spin-off as another 00 Agent,....but if they have a female 007 lined up for the main agent for the next film, I honestly think it will fail

I suspect that it'll start with the new, female 007 being killed on a mission and MI5/6 (whatever they're going by these days) dragging Bond back into service much like McCoy was in TMP.

So is it going to be about Daniel Craig and the girl 007 working side by side? Tread carefully because I’m starting to picture the latest MIB film.

All they had to do is cast Idris Elba! Was that too hard?! I guess Hollywood's new motto is "Who cares about the fans? The ones that don't like it are racist/misogynist/etc.!"

No Time To Die sounds like a direct-to-video Steven Seagal movie, to be honest. I much prefer the working title, i.e. Shatterhand.
No Time To Die???? The Bond train has gone so far off the rails.
Oh yes. James bond films; always known for their clear and meaningful titles.

Shame we'll have to put up with a phrase we can easily imagine bond saying. "Excuse me darling, but this is no time to die."

I guess we'll have to pine for the good 'ol days, when the title couldn't even be part of a complete sentence -

Or best yet, the literary and always completely understandable titles like -

I cannot see the reason for keeping DC in the role except for studio risk-aversion.

The public may support keeping him. But I think even that is a lot of risk-aversion. Nobody trusts the studio to choose a new Bond right now. They're liable to stray from the traditional straight-white-British-male . . . and then make the whole movie preoccupied with the difference.

I honestly don't care what they make Bond, so long as they do it for the right reasons. The problem is, they just don't these days. If they went out and picked the best actor or actress for the role that they could, regardless of other factors, I'd be fine with it. I still think Idris Elba would be a fantastic Bond. But they don't do that. They use race and gender as clubs and pick things for political reasons, then scream that everyone is racist or sexist or whatever other epithet they can throw around when people reject the choice.

Yeah, pretty much.

IMO the majority would accept a race change. I think many people would even accept a gender change, or at least let the idea have a fair try. But IMO people really don't want a movie that's fixated on the change. They just want a Bond movie.

Well, I was thinking of the Craig Bond films, which I think have had much better titles than No Time To Die, and I think have at least attempted to be serious spy films.

Though I didn't like Spectre, I like the title a lot.

I thought Skyfall also had something compelling about the name.

I even liked Quantum of Solace.

But No Time To Die is worse, IMHO even than Octopussy.

Make all the emoji faces ya want to, that's how I feeeeeeeeeeel.

Hiddleston would be great as Bond. Even Henry Cavill in Man from Uncle struck a very Bondesque chord IMHO. I think he'd be a great Bond.

That’s interesting since the title for the Indy 5, which will include the triumphant return of middle aged Short Round, has been revealed as...

“Indiana Jones And No Time For Love”

Apparently, both Bond and Indy have no time for anything.
