RIP Ron Ely

RIP Ron known for his sting as TVs Tarzan and remember a photo of his injuries during the filming of the show...
But what some might not know he played Doc Savage man of bronze in a movie I watched all the time as a kid, it even had a Bond esq Doc Savage will return title at the end but sadly guessing to it not performing well in the cinema never happened.

What a character though and surely influenced a great many later movies especially the pulp serial vibe of the movie..

I only found out about his wife yesterday and reading the various reports about his son's condition.

Being from the UK we didn't get US TV shows till much later the early 70s I believe.. I was quite shocked to see it was made in 1966!

This is even worse than is sounds. The death of his wife and son were unnecessarily tragic. According to later reporting, both wife and son were stabbing victims and the local law enforcement decided to deny medical attention to the wife and shoot the son. It's a bizarre tragedy.
