Ninja turtle suit, working mouth

So the mouth moves because you have a strap tight to your chin so when you open your mouth, your jaw action causes the turtle mouth to open, and the springs keep the mouth closed, is that right? Nothing in your mouth.

you got it, nothing but people power and springs. I've got other versions of the same mech in different masks, I'll post more pics eventually and once you've seen it a few times I'm sure it'll totally make sense.
oh and thanks all, it's easy to impress th' punters but accolades from my peers in FX land are the most encouraging. you guys really know your stuff.

um there's some pretty good pics of the mech on the 1st page. did u wanna see the sculpted foam? I can post that stuff if you like.

im totally blown away, this costume is just to cool :eek

you made a really nice job on the mouth moving part, pretty smart done.

think this is one of the coolest costumes i seen in a long time, you always see star wars costumes and things like that (not that i dont love these, i have 3 myself :)) but this one is a costume that really is nice becourse its really rare you see one of these.

Huh ha good to catch up here Bro, seems like a productive environment to be in.
got some wicked projects coming up, keep an eye out.

what type of glue did u use on the foam? pm me plzzz
pm sent.
hey harley, the glue i use to join the foam is a contact adhesive, you know the type you spread on both surfaces then wait till they dry a bit then join together. I'm using mainly ADOS F2. you can speed up the process by using a hair dryer. I made a cardboard mockup of the helmet then copied the measurements and shapes by bending the aluminum around some PVC plumbing tubes.
good luck with yours.
