Hollywood can bend the rules to suit itself, but if James Cameron lost the rights to Terminator, I think the two Bobs might have a hard time stopping a studio cash grab if said studio feels the need.

Cameron voluntarily sold the rights to Terminator for $1. It was the only way he could get Orion pictures to greenlight the film. He will get those rights back in 2019.

Big difference between what Cameron had to do for T1 Vs T2. T1 put him on the map, yet it cost around $7M to make Vs T2 at over $100M.
Still don't think "the Bobs" have that much pull in Hollywood. I don't really even know of too many films they did after BTTF 2/3. Apart for the ghost film with MJF (I can't even remember the name), what else have they actually done?

Zemeckis is a huge name to US audiences. Castaway, Roger Rabbit, and Gump possibly being his most well-known work outside of BTTF. Plus a whole bunch of movies you've probably at least heard of, if not seen. Zemeckis could probably have any project he wanted. He's actually my fantasy-pick for directing Star Wars 9.
You're right about Gale though. He is mostly just sheperds BTTF.

The Bobs have contractual say-so over whether any new BTTF movies get made. That's why it hasn't happened. It's well reported too, not my opinion. You can see it mentioned in many articles on the possibility of further BTTF movies.
Also, imo, Universal would have already done it if they could. Whether they had Doc and Marty or not. Because $$$.
BTW, I ended up sending a message to Xcoser asking about the sport mags and the ear material. I'll let everyone know if they bother to respond.

Because generally we have nice weather all year round, lots of strange things can happen.LASTS
You can't really see it here, but there is a very nice even curve from the ball of the foot out to the toes. This is more 1.6mm polypropylene that I had laying around. So rather than make the whole shoe, what I have done here is to make just the toe up to inner seam of the lace box. I used both parts of the upper templates to trace the toe and added the inner seam line to the outer template to where I needed to cut it off. Then flipped the templates over to make the other shoe. Both were marked L and R and I used a solder iron to weld the plastic together. I then went over the seam with Zappa-Gap (with the accelerator) and then slush cast in some epoxy to seal everything.
I need to flatten the top a touch, so once the epoxy has cured, I should be right to jig these as the epoxy remains flexible when it is thin for 24 hours. So what I am hoping for is the epoxy to hold the new shape for when I fill these to make them solid. Each last should take about 500g of resin. I'll probably fill them in stages so the exothermic reaction does not rupture the weld. 500g of resin suddenly spilling onto my work bench would NOT be OK.
Lastly, I will add a small heel part to keep it locked in place when I use these for the uppers.

anyone ever wore your modded mags on the flight? im scared if i go thru TSA they might think its a bomb, with all the cables in the shoe.

The last time I wore my shoes (with electrics fitted) on a plane, I had removed the batteries. The metal scanner flashed red at one bar above my ankles (I guess it picked up wires and the battery holder), but was so quick, no-one bothered to ask what was there to cause that flash. With the batteries in, you'd be best to take your shoes off and place them in a plastic tray and pass it through the X-Ray. That way, they can see what is in your shoes. Look, in the end of the day, we are living in an almost paranoid world. If you think something will cause a security issue, then use your head and best not to temp fate.

I wore mine flying within Australia, twice, between states, while they were still functional and no trouble. It may be more strict scanning if you go overseas? Doesn't worry me now as I have pulled the wires out and switched to GITD.
