I wonder how much pull he really has given Universal owns the film, not Robert Zemeckis.
I think Zemeckis and Gale have contract-based control over whether or not any further BTTF movies can get made.

Hollywood can bend the rules to suit itself, but if James Cameron lost the rights to Terminator, I think the two Bobs might have a hard time stopping a studio cash grab if said studio feels the need.
Big difference between what Cameron had to do for T1 Vs T2. T1 put him on the map, yet it cost around $7M to make Vs T2 at over $100M.
Still don't think "the Bobs" have that much pull in Hollywood. I don't really even know of too many films they did after BTTF 2/3. Apart for the ghost film with MJF (I can't even remember the name), what else have they actually done?
Universal owns the name Back to the Future. The Bobs own the characters Doc and Marty. The studio can do a new trilogy, but it has to be new characters, which wouldn't ever work. The Bobs knew what they were doing :thumbsup
