This looks like the thermo-forming mob are capitalizing on the 3D printing trend. Which is kind of cool as both can work together.

These look amazing. So good to see a strap match the tongue too. Well done.

Yes this is a thermo-molding-thing ^^ looks cool to make instant molds for simple chapes... :)

As I made both straps and tongues at the same time it's easy :D

ps : thanks for your message ;)

Superglue works to stick these back together. I don't think I have seen one of the older style soles split there before.

it was pretty weird, it actually happened while they were stored away in the box! I pulled them out to have a little wear of them and found that the one side had split.

Probably will end up making a few adjustments to both soles, to try and replicate the newer ones you've done and then stick them back together.

Recently it was discussed about trimming the base of the clear sole so that when the side inner wings were glued on, they would curve to give a very bulged look, closer to the RD.

The curve isn't much, but does make a difference. This is hard plastic, not the rubber that parts are normally made from. I am using this for prototyping because it is rigid and is easier to mold later. It is also about 1/5th the price of the rubber.

I am thinking about selling my US8 display pair. My US9.5s tend to be a display pair when I am not wearing them anyway, so as I only have one Hover Board, figure they can go. So I started putting them all back together with some upgrades starting with the new buckles.

.

Someone asked if I had sanded the inside the of the wings, and until today, I had not.

This was done with a ceramic bit in the dremil and just ran it all over the inside until the surface was frosted. I then glued the surface of the GITD kit to the inside surface of the wing. The glue makes the area where the Glow kit sits water clear allowing the light to pass. Because the Glow kit is now part of the side, the light brightness is not angle dependent like I noticed it is with my own shoes.

Strap logo and sole lights are the same brightness now.

I'll add the panel to back light the bubble tomorrow, then finish gluing the heel cup down.

I like the tongue mods RVLF, let us know if you will produce for us people who cannot sew neatly! Everything I try to sew looks like Frankenstiens monster....

Out of all the photos I have taken of my Glow In The Dark mix, they all look quite blue [top image]. I finally snapped an image that shows the colour correctly.

excellent.
what are you using in the back? leds?
looking amazing.

also, is the el in the soles behind those hollow squares?

Yes Im using regular Leds for the back, I might have to use 2 battery's to power the el panels and strap then a separate battery for the Leds because its to much power for the 9V Or (3.7V lipo battery powerboost to 5V) to power alone. Im trying to connect 2 battery's to the one power on and off button i dont like the thought of two power buttons lol.
As for the el panel in the soles they are half inside the hollow squares and the bottom half is sticking out i tried curving them inside but el panels are very sensitive and crack so thats why i have the bottom of them hanging out but i could have probably placed them on top. In-order to put them behind i would have had to take the sole off i was to scared because these shoes where $400 maybe next time.

Big fan of your work airair i will have to get a pair of light sets from you soon. How are your red, yellow, green lights made, Not leds ?

I got some more of the 2 part plastic and have done more work to the V1 soles. I have US8, US10 and US11, though have not done anything with US11 yet.

As you see, there is still a heap of work to do. Because this plastic starts off as a liquid, then goes to gel, then solid, there is a very small window of time where the gel is thick enough lay up on the side wall.

Rather than build the toe up, I have built it down. This gives the sole a more flatter look that we see with the screen used shoe.

Once I finish off the built up process, I will cut in to sides to make the recesses for the clear soles.

Was at foot locker today - I found a model of Nikes that were so new the staff girl didn't even know what the model name was, but the lace replacement speaks to me..... ;)
Maybe next time.

Clean toe - check
Elastic instead of stupid string - check
Hi-hop - nope

Oh well. 2 out of three is not too bad.

Have the Chinese even done any more spams on their shared pair of 2011S?
