How large is the inverter and could it located to other parts of the shoe?

The inverter is a thin 3v inverter it works up to 4.2v (so a fully charged li-ion) Here is a link to the one I am using. And yes you could probably re locate it if you wanted to. It would be close to fitting in the stock ankle buckle.

CL-IPTC-3v-3-7FT

very interested in your setup. Details would be greatly appreciated.

I'll work on drawing up a detailed photo. There are a few bugs I am working out (mainly which battery you should use and which protection circuit) before I want to release a EXACT supply list. But this method is complicated mainly due to safe use of the Li-ion you have to do a bunch of extra steps that you wouldn't do with 9V. So this method isn't for everyone. But it may be more satisfying to some.

On a side note...has anyone thought of using a reed switch in a pair of their shoes? I think I may try it out. I know its not accurate but it would be cool to touch a fob on the shoe and have them turn on. Most reed switches are made from glass so most are fragile but they do make some that should work fine as long as they are in the ankle buckle.

I was fortunate enough to buy a pair of real Nike MAG's. I was shocked at how close my modded V2's are to the real deal. Unless you know these shoes as well as me or you guys, these are SOOO close. These are both size 10's. The height is exactly the same. Almost all the dimensions are the same. and the lights are brighter on mine. Anyway, rest assured I will never need to wear my real MAG's:

fantastic
so how much did the original ones end up costing?!
do you have any more pics of comparisons, full on side view comparison, back view comparison, that would be great.
I agree, in certain angles they do look very close, and to the layman, they wouldn't know any difference whatsoever.

The main issue with the v2 template is the back, and the bit where the white strap goes over the grey squarish bit.
And the length between the last lace and front of toe.

I've had to refine my template and used proper measurements now, as my first versions were slightly too tall.
It's a very difficult template to recreate, but its almost done now.

If you have any more side view comparison pics, that would be great (preferably with both shoes having the cardboard inside to keep their shape)

thanks

Wow cut those up and see exactly how Nike is doing it jk. The only real difference is the clear soles. But I haven't seen them side by side yet and I am amazed how close they actually look to each other! I was working on the clear sole in the past I have made a mold of the regular sole but kind of stopped after one. Have you thought of making a mold of the real ones? That's one of the things I have been wanting most are the ridge clear soles mine haven't turned out like I would like without the ridge they would never be the same. Is the pattern then same on the two shoes? It looks like the pattern on the real ones are almost like little pyramids and the replicas are just squares that don't protrude and the real ones do? I have tried to replicate the ridge with a mold by pressing the sole into clay but the pattern always gets distorted, any ideas?? Also on another note, since you own the real ones does that mean you have the instruction booklet that comes with them? (The one with all the photos showing you how to plug them in ect.) Do you have scans of it or can you get scans of it??

There was a pair on eBay last week(?) that had all original images yet the seller seemed totally unaware of what he had. I stopped watching at just over 1 day to go and the price was hovering around $1200USD. I wonder if this is that pair? Well done Jedifyfe. You finally have your grail prop.

I am 99% sure they were just the replicas. He had "zero feedback" I am sure whoever gets them will find they aren't the shoes in the photos he has. Soooo many people do this on Ebay but I don't think they realize they won't actually ever get that money. Sure the person may pay but Ebay holds the money for 21 days with new accounts. And when the person gets the shoes and realizes they are not real they will contact Ebay and will refund them. Meanwhile the seller will be out a pair of replica mags and never touch the money.

Thanks guys. Yes, this IS my grail prop.

They ended up being $4000. They were on Ebay but the seller was 10 minutes from me, so I met them, checked over the shoes and paid right then. These have never been worn and only removed from the box 4 times. They are flawless.

Here are the pics I took.

First I was curious about the weight. Mine are only 2oz heavier. I guarantee it is because of the denser rubber on the midsole.

I'm happy for you getting those RD Mags JediFyfe, it's like ***** actually getting a chance to read his bible. Lol well maybe not that drastic but you get my point! They look sick, I would want to wear them though :) that's just me (YOLO?)

But, these pictures are great two things I'm going to change on my next pair are making the Nike Logos on the strap a little bigger so there is no black outline and going to try to make my toe mod waaaaaaay slimmer. Other than that the icey clear rubber outsoles look so awesome.

How did they make the LED's have different charge sequences? Is there something built into the LED boards?

LOL! Thank you my friend. There are only a few people that truly understand what it would feel like to own these. I tried mine on and they fit like a glove!! I was surprised as I usually wear 11's in NIKE and these have about a 1/4 inch to spare. Totally surprised me.

Yes, I agree with the slimmer toe mod. I will do the same. I think RobTX has it correct. Again....99% of people won't ever notice. Even when I had them next to each other, I almost grabbed the wrong one...several times. It is crazy similar! You guys who can just afford the knockoffs and can mod them...rest assured you are saving yourself $4000! and no one will know! Take my word...

I will continue to wear my knockoffs proudly.

Yes, they must have a charge circuit that has the sequence built in. Not a big thing...

Exactly. I never trusted anyone who was selling these unless they sent photos with their name on it. Most Mag's have been hovering around $4500-$5500.

WOW Brad, congratulations! If anyone deserves a pair of RDs it's you. But I'm a little sad at the same time.... Your resistance to pulling the trigger on RDs back when the official auctions were running somehow made it easier for me to do the same, and you've always inspired us to be happy with the V2's, but now you caved!!! LOL That is still a very pretty penny to spend, but I know it was worth it otherwise you wouldn't have done so. Thanks for all the comparison pictures, and I hope CAVX finally stops saying the V2s are not tall enough! :D

Yeah I can do that :) Jedifyfe, 2 size questions if I may?

1. How far does the clear sole stick out from the side compared to the V2?
2. How tall is that ankle buckle?

Congrats on the RD mags! They're beautiful.
The ugly stitching along the top is still the obvious give-away to me for the fakes. If they ever get the stitching right, I'm going to have a much tougher time distinguishing the real deal from the modded Mags! Especially after modding, all of the colours look very close.

Im referring to a different auction.
There was an auction which had pictures of a real rd 2011 shoe which ended up for $1350. it had a telephone on there so either someone didn't know or they simply wanted a quick sale.

Same auction then. These were RD MAGs not modded V2 MAGs. At the time I was watched to, the shoes were up to $1200. I didn't bother to bid because I could not find the size and I think the seller would not send to AU anyway.

i just removed the grey foam insert from a pair of brand new v2's, and i found a staple right near the heel!
ouch, that might have hurt if it was left in!
i guess the factory must have been working overtime on them!
