I ordered an EL sheet on ebay, but there is no tracking for it. I ordered it last week too. Should I be worried?
Welcome,
The short answer is no.
The tutorials that I put up are as detailed as I will go. There is amazing information in this thread, if you care to read it.
Here are my recommendations:
1) Read this thread from start to finish
2) Watch all of my tutorials and study the wiring diagrams given in this thread
3) Buy your shoes and when you get them, study them before you do anything.
Start with the toe mod, take your time...I mean go REALLY SLOW! Then when you have the toe mod done, take on seperating the soles for the EL.
Make sure you order all your supplies in advance.

I tried to read through all the posts here and there's just so much I don't understand. With my lack of knowledge, I don't think I can mod these. Are any of you guys modding shoes for other people?
...so you're looking at about $600 if I had to guess for the original shoes, mod materials, and labor/skill for the person modding them.
You don't know if you can solder? Then you probably shouldn't!If you just practice, you should catch on after a few test runs. I taught myself a few years ago when I needed specific type gadgets that didn't exist, so I practiced and eventually was able to make them! I still fry parts now and again, so maybe I'm not such a good self teacher.

from the link i supplied in the shopping list? if so don't worry they will arrive, for the U.K it takes about 2 weeks.
If it isn't marked as dispatched though i would "contact seller" and ask when it will be dispatched.
There are a couple, but none that will fit the "not too much" cost requirement you mentioned in your earlier post, which if you had taken the time to read through this entire thread you would have realized is not realistic.
It's already been stated in the thread that it takes about $150 just in materials to mod the shoes, plus shipping costs for all of the components. Then you have to pay for the HOURS of labor and for the skill of the modder. I think some folks are charging about $250 for the hours or work it takes to properly mod the shoes, so you're looking at about $600 if I had to guess for the original shoes, mod materials, and labor/skill for the person modding them.
I said im good at soldieing
That would be the low end of the cost. Personally, I would not sell anymore modded shoes for less that about $1000-$1200. And about $750-$800 just for the modding service.
It's not only the materials and time but the skills and the "oops factor". Meaning that if you screw up one thing on these shoes they are worthless.
no offense. i appreciate your hard work. but $750-800 to mod a $200 pair shoes is a little ridiculous.
No offense taken, it's your opinion. Which at this point, I have 5 people that have paid that amount. But I suggest that you buy the materials and try it yourself. That way you can see exactly what it takes. :thumbsup
The fact is, that I could mod a pair of these $200 shoes and sell them on Ebay for over $1000.
I rest my case. :lol

Soldering is about 5% of the modding. The 2 biggest skills that one needs in modding these are #1) Patience and #2) Artistic Vision.
The Artistic Vision is the skill that you aquire or have when you look at something and just "know" what you can do with it. Like sculpting, painting or any other artistic medium.
When I saw these V2's I saw exactly what I could do to them but it wasn't until I had them in hand that I knew for sure what was possible.
I'm sorry, I misread your sentence. I agree with Jedifyfe. The soldering part is the least of your worries when prying and disassembling your shoes.I said im good at soldieing
Umm what you did you was take the V2 and mod the toe box, change the LEDs and add the light up NIKE strap. It's not like you built it from scratch or mod the Mark Poon version. Those people from China deserve more credit for making the V2.![]()
If you think that it's that easy, I challenge you to put your money where your keyboard is and do a mod that looks as good as mine.
So you obviously have no concept of talent or time. I refer you to this blog:
