he told me he might work on only 2 more pairs, as i've been asking him for a while now, he will make one for me, but he also said he might create massively the midsoles, so everybody can have some good ones!
Well I hope i'm not spoiling haha!!! If so! I'm sorry Caloss xD

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Jedi, I saw your video on the toe box slim mod...but it was done on the MP shoe, not the v2.... How would it be done on the v2? I mean is there that wooden base and toe cap thing in the v2s?

If anyone else has done it to their v2s, what advice or warnings could you give to save others from messing up their shoe!

No there isn't the toe cap. It's somewhat the same. You have to carefully seperate the fabric from the foamy midsole, then lift it up, remove the excess fabric and reglue it back down (a little bit at a time).

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Thank you for all your advice on the bttf threads, if it wasn't for you and pitbull and mark poon I wouldn't have even known about the shoes. I can't wait to feel the magic of the shoes like how I felt when I first saw them on the tv :)

Hopefully over time, I can get them better looking than when they come to me. :)

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

This is a Nike mag V2 shoe i just ripped it apart then build it back up with new shells and replaced the lights added the on and off switch in the uppers just like the real ones i also will put the darker grey liner in the sole frame this will make the el seem more brighter just waiting for all my materials to come in..thanks guys for all the great comments and help..

It's definitely looking nice. If you are going for a more accurate look, you may want to fix the EL shape in the soles from the triangular shape to more of the accurate dome shape. :thumbsup

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Been a member for a long time, but never really posted before. Been going through all the Nike Air Mag Threads and want to thank alot of you for helping out. Makes my decision to buy and mod one much easier. Might wait for V3s but if I can get Jedifyfe to help me mod my Mags then I would buy V2 lol.

Hey Jedi, You do some great things on this fourms that I been reading. I also live in LA/OC. I was wondering if you would be willing to help me out on some things if I buy the v2. Most likely the Toe and light strap mods. I can pay you something and will provide all the materials. Or if u have extra material I can buy them off you. I wouldnt mind driving to ur place. I know its kinda weird, for someone with no post to just ask u like this, but its worth a shot. Been a member since 2011, just never posted, always was fascinated with all the projects people do. I can PM you, or your can PM anytime. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Does anyone think a 2AA inverter for an EL Nike strap fit into the stock v2 buckle?

Trying to get an inverter+power source to fit in there haha.

>:S

AA battery = 2 inches in length.
And two batteries side by side should be 1 inch wide.

Much too big to fit anywhere. I'd suggest one like this. It takes 2 hearing aid batteries. I've got 2 here if anybody wants em btw. Pm for details.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Could just take the plastic off of it and power it another way, with a button cell or 3.7v

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

How long would one cr2032 battery (3v/220mAh capacity) be able to power the tiny nike EL strap? Having to buy a couple cr2032 batteries every other day would get pricey over time.

Probably not very long. You'd be better off getting some sort of rechargeable 3.7v li-ion battery.

Id say not very long if at all. The inrush current of the inverters sometimes peaks at over 300ma...the battery only has 220ma max current so not enough juice to power the first boost stage of the inverter.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

So I need:

$(KGrHqJHJFUFDK7i2t7kBQ3lUMzTf!~~60_12.JPG

and two of these:
!CFB2ciw!Wk~$(KGrHqQOKigE0nShMhUEBNTyEif(z!~~_12.JPG

What about resistors to prevent overcharge/too much power usage....and how about a button to turn the battery power on/off.

How would I charge that kind of battery? Li-ion stuff is dangerous.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

does in the uk know any local shops where to pickup some styrene plastic sheets from?

im having trouble finding any local ones at the moment.

Only dangerous if you don't know what your doing. Just about every cell phone is powered with some sort of Li-ion battery. You need a battery pack not a single cell unless it has tabs on it. Like the PS3 replacement battery. As for a switch I am using one from a flashlight (clicky switch). You don't need resisters for EL panels a 3v inverter will run off 3.7v. If you change the LEDS on the shoe as well then you will need resisters for those. As for the connect in the pic you'd be better off using your own wire and making your own connections.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Ohhh okay!

I'll need 2 3.7v ps3 controller batteries then,

Cut off the white tip, solder the red wire to this button:

Momentary_Switch_1024x1024.jpg

and ground the black wire.

Then solder a red wire from the button to the EL connector.

So technically;

Battery----positive wire---micro momentary button--------positive wire---EL wire
----------------------------// ground-------------------\\ground

Secure everything with electrical tape and somehow hide that battery in the ankle buckle.

Are you specifically asking for styrene because X-Robots (James is a member here) in the UK did his Vac Form video and called it HIPS [high impact poly styrene]. Apparently, there is more to the right name [Romeo and Juliet] :cool

Just remember to allow access to charge. If you hard wire this in, how do you charge it? It might be best to see if there is a socket for that plug so you can remove it or then you need a charge port and diode.
