I made a 2 part silicone mold of the clear parts only. You put the sole in a mold box half in clay I brush baby oil on then pour the mold over it. Flip it over then remove the clay put more baby oil on then pour the other side and I am left with a 2 part mold ready to be poured once my rubber arrives!

Almost fully done guys im just waiting on the new white leather for the tongues after i get the leather i will put the shell together . here is some pics of my almost spot on shell.

WOW these look good. So did you do this using speaker grill cloth glued to foam, then have the liner stitched and foled over?

Sounds good. Any pics? Were you able to find the correct pyramid mat for the base? These V2s use the same waffle on the sides and base. Also were you able to make the sole outrigger?

Just got my tracking number and can't wait to get my shoes. Hopefully they turn out half as good as some of the ones I've seen here. Do you guys have a preferred vendor for the el tape and sheets?

So let me get this right. These are modified V2s then Caloss or your own build from scratch?

He has completely stripped his V2s down to the sole and is scratch building new, more accurate uppers. By accurate, I am suggesting the height and location of the seams. No doubt he will re-do the lights and maybe even the clear soles.

I am trying to redo the whole shell to a more accurate Mag Shell the V2 version has a major off set look / boot toe/ led lights no El panel /clear leds / flat clear sole no outer rigs like the R.Ds/ im trying to fix all this for us this shoe is a good kit once broken down it has all the items for molding and custom peaces Im happy with the over all progress but this clear icy sole needs to be changed to the R.D version . I dont understand why the factory didnt get it right the 1st time....... but for now i will be happy with what i have after it is redone to my standards then i will send pics to my vinder friend that has access to the factory's hopefully i can change the over all look then submit it and hope for the best,,if i can do this with my bare hands just think what a factory can do?so lets keep or fingers crossed guys.

Wow, sounds good. It will be difficult to fully fix everything you mentioned but like you said... fingers crossed! opcorn

This is a Nike mag V2 shoe i just ripped it apart then build it back up with new shells and replaced the lights added the on and off switch in the uppers just like the real ones i also will put the darker grey liner in the sole frame this will make the el seem more brighter just waiting for all my materials to come in..thanks guys for all the great comments and help..

So...to get a more screen accurate shoe using the V2's I would have to:

1. Pull the toe area material up, fold it down so it sits lower, and re-glue it back down.
2. Use a hair dryer to separate the sole from the side and slip some custom shaped EL wire inside...run the wires up the shoe and use the same exit hole as the LED's switch outside.
3. Place a thin towel over the shoe and flatten the laces with an iron, being careful not to scorch the material or ruin the nike swoosh.
4. Micro inverter for EL wire and power supply rigged into the ankle buckle.
5. EL wire nike strap mod. (Buying one from Who45)

Thats about it right? The only thing I need some info on would be the EL wire power supply and inverter.

Can anyone post any pics or info from their own shoes about:

-The type of battery,
--Best voltage amount for glowing both a strap and EL sole(such as a AA 1.5V)
---The correct type of inverter to use(size/output-wise)
----If I need anything else with the above mentioned components for power to make it both safe and stable.

I want to set it up to where I can recharge the batteries too. I was reading earlier and saw something about resistors and soldering stuff onto a board...I'm just so confused!

I'm new here...both on posting in this forum and in modding electronics.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated; thanks in advance.

Make sure you use EL sheet and NOT EL wire. Two seperate things.

Also, to make it accurate, you need to replace the 12 LED's in the ankle bubble and make the ankle bubble itself have a frosted look.

All my new goodies for the Inverter should be turning up this week. Better get my finger out and make a PCB for it to go on then.

Jedifyfe, these mods take the look from OK to sensational. Again, well done. Would the 9.5s not be best for display as they are closer to the size worn in the film?

So would one of these be the right thing to get to power both the strap and the EL sheet(per shoe)?

At the cost of button cell batteries I won't feel bad with using something like that. I just wanna know if it'll be strong enough to light both.

Thanks Cavx. I might try and get a size 8 to display. Since these run a little big, I think that would be the ideal size to display.

someone should make some custom soles for these so they are more blue and the right shape as these dont stick out far enough.

Can you guys help me out with any links to the El tape and sheets? I've seen multiple places online but want to make sure I'm getting the right color and sheet size. Can you also point me in the direction of an inverter for the PS3 battery?
