whats the size in mm of the cable?

since most shops don't even list the gauge of the wire in the UK, especially on ebay, its hard to tell what wire they are selling.

the only i can find online is this one

I have no idea. Again, I think you are over thinking things like this. Use a small gauge wire that is strong. It's that simple. This is not rocket science....it's putting little lights in shoes. :lol

well im reading this post here and its contradictory to what you guys are using. You guys are using 24g cable, yet here someone is saying use more than 30!

Also if anyone is actually changing the wiring/ adding wiring into the sole of the shoe make sure any wire that's going to be stepped on is of a decent gauge. Using 26 gauge and 30 gauge in shoe projects I have done will always fail. The wire itself will weaken and break in most cases over time.

I guess ill just go to the shop and find something.

eh..I have used the 24 gauge on all my Markpoon shoes and have NEVER had a problem. So...

Just use whatever you can get your hands on. :thumbsup

airair, the smaller the gauge wire, the bigger it is. so 24 is a tad bit bigger than 30. JediFyfe is calling it right, dont over think this, the biggest thing for me is just having fun and enjoying what we are doing.

It doesn't matter what kind exactly, just what gauge mainly. I always use 24/22 gauge normally with a solid core. Not sure where your located but Radioshack has lots to choose from!

You don't need any expensive wire. Your not running enough current through it to really worry about.
If maplin sell some red and black 24 gauge wire then buy that.

the EL cutouts on your soles on the second pair in your display seem bigger than your first pair?

I'm going to be wearing the hell out of my pairs when done!!
i'll have at least 3 pairs for wearing, and the rest of the pairs either for display or i even might reuse some of the existing parts to recast new parts, like the ankle buckle.

Yep. The first pair I cut the soles open with an exacto knife and installed the EL sheet behind the cut outs in the shoe. The second pair, I used the hairdryer to remove the soles and then cut then EL sheet to match the real MAGS.

IF you do decide to do any video tutorials I think the toe slim would be best as that seems the most daunting mod to do
