i'm using 3v setup, ye i use 100ohm to be safe but the brightness with and without it is roughly the same so its all good, but i will try lower resistor
Got the switch working!!!
see below amended diagram, i am sooo happy at the moment seeing the EL and LEDs all come on at once with the press of a button, going to move the switch from the inverter to my desired place and then this is good to use.
Hopefully the ps3 batteries arrive tonight and i can see how long all the lights stay on for but 1800mah thats twice as much as any 9v battery
but as i have 2500mAh nokia batteries i will use them so i get the most light time as possible on one charge.
Now I just want to start on a new pair of mags and hide the battery and inverter in the sole and just have the switch accessible without taking the strap off and getting access that way and also just have the dc charger in the buckle
EDIT - tested the resistance and only 10 ohm... So I've chucked the resistor and soldered the LEDs straight up... Going to leave it for a few hours to see if the LEDs dim, keep you all posted but basically if this pulls through we don't need resistors
