One thing I've noticed is that either I'm using the wrong glue or I didn't spray enough. It's been slightly separating in certain spots especially around the NIKE decal. Any tips?

Hi all, Happy New Year!
Just a quickie as I have read so many pages and can't see it. Need to seal my sole back up - have a party and want to wear them, not finished the conversion yet, anyway what glue is best? That will let me blow-dry it open again later?
Thanks people
Nad
To those who have opened and glued your straps back up - what glue did you use? I find that the rhombus cutout keeps peeling a bit - maybe from the tension.
Use a good strong contact adhesive (preferably clear as a lot are in yellow or green) and brush on both sides of the strap you wish to glue. Don't put too much around the where the Nike logo will be as when you press down, you don't want it to bubble and go over the exposed logo, but put a nice thin layer on both sides.
Let it dry for a bit (not sure, but usually a good 2 or 3 mins normally), then carefully you can glue the strap back, making sure you do it slowly and ensuring you curve the strap as you are glueing it down, and to prevent any seperation spots.
I've used this method and it works pretty much perfect, and have never had a seperation spot.
You are having the exact same issue which lots of people have, and that is that the spray glue is just not strong enough overall to stick the leather/faux vinyl together.
The spray is also messy and just attracts dirt very easily.
If after glueing, you find any of the edges are slightly seperating, just put some more contact adhesive with a thin piece of plasticard or cardboard, wait a minute or two and just seal the edges up.
Then once you've glued together, just put some pressure on the strap, put some books on them or something heavy and flat and after a few hours should be good to go.
This is the best solution imo, easy, no mess, and none of those seperation spots which ive seen on countless examples.
I've done so many using this method and even I was surprised at how clean they came out, like a factory finish literally.
Will Amazing Goop work?
I doubt it since its so thick and messy to use.
Goop or shoe goo or its variants are best for sealing large areas, not really for what you are needing to do.
I would just get a clear contact adhesive (any brand should be fine) and put that on both sides of the strap to be glued and you should be fine.
Good question!
Normally to glue them back, most are using loctite super glue.
However, since you are wanting to reopen them again, that could be a bit tricky, as the super glue dries hard, so when you do pull it back it will be a bit dry around the edges,
The only other thing that might work is a clear contact adhesive, but not many are good at sticking rubber to rubber surfaces which is the main problem.
I reckon if you did a thin layer of superglue (maybe a few drops only or a brush on loctite) and left the top edges of the clear rubber clean, that might be ok.
Any specific brand that you can recommend?
For gluing the strap back together?
I used a product called "Dritz Instant Vinyl" from a fabric store to do my prototypes, they're stuck super tight.
They even bend into U-shapes with no separation or peeling. It even worked to glue the Nike emblem onto the strap.
$5 through Amazon, if you don't have it local. Highly recommend it for any application where you need to glue vinyl.

This is the kit I was talking about. Is this MPs or someone elses?
So not happy with the grey paint cracking and peeling, so I re-did my mid-soles with something a little different. I'll post the result in the morning after this has gone off.
Hey, Cav. You wear these things regularly right?
Do they break-in pretty good? Get loose and easier to wear?
They're supposed to be true to size, but I think the HC's run a little slim. The pairs I've got are a little snug side-to-side (toe to heel is fine), so I'm wondering if they'll break-in or if I should size up. I got HC sending me some measurements as soon as they can take them, another 24 hours til I know for sure.
Tinker Hatfield just confirmed that the power lace shoes WILL be the Mag's.

I know Nike won't, but I wish they did some type of pre-order on these so people who really want them can get them. 90% of these Mags are going to be resold instantly which sucks.
