Has anyone considered getting a halloween costumes pair and heavily modifying them to be like the actual screen used shoes and not the 2011's. There's a definite profile difference.

Its too much work.
You basically would have to rip off the entire uppers, make new ones, and also fix numerous other flaws, the grey soles front and back, the clear soles, adding lettering to the heel and changing the actual colour of the grey from greenish grey to light grey.
If you are up for a challenge though, expect it to be a long one!

If you talk about cavx clear soles, I don't think so.
Regular V2's soles turn yellow pretty quickly.

Ive had my v2s for just over 12 months, keeping them in the box except for 3 or 4 times, and the soles are gradually yellowing. Also, when i did wear them (mostly indoors) it was only at night so i can avoid the sun from speeding the process. Even then they still managed to age over time. Luckily cavx may help us with this issue

Does the V2s clear soles have yellowing issues?

My wear pair went yellow over time. My display pair have never seen the sun and are stored in my home cinema which has total blckout capabilities, yet went from white translucant to lightish yellow in about 6 weeks and to full yellow in 6 months.

So I went looking for a UV stable clear elestomer. The stuff I have seems stable. I mixed and poured rubber into a sheet and placed that in a garden bed. I left it there exposed in full sun for 6 weeks. It did not appear to cloud or change colour. Iyherefore think that worn under "normal" conditions and stored inside a home, these should not go yellow with in several years. Over time (10 years?), yes they will change as nothing lssts forever and I will suggest that the rest of the shoe rubber has crumbled before then.

Looking for the printable NIKE logo sheet - which thread is it in?
This one a few pages back. If I was on my PC and not on a tablet, I could have attached my copy for you.

I wonder if SeaGlo can fix the yellowing issue of the clear soles. Air Jordan 11 collectors use them on the clear soles of the shoes..

Would the EL lighting in the soles dim once the soles turn yellow?

Have you guys seen the listing on ebay of that guy selling the Mag straps with the EL Nike for 200? What set up is he using? It looks so simple. I'd love to buy something that's ready to go like that kit.

Thats most likely Markpoon, he sells them for cheaper in the "project runs" junkyard section

I don't think the listing I'm talking about is Mark's. Here is a pic. image.jpg

The problem is the yellowing is not just on the surface of the sole. It is right through the cross section and dyes like SeaGlo are just a bandaid solution. If you want to prevent the soles being affected by UV, then you need UV stalized rubber to make the part in the first place. The issue is of course cost and why the Chinese factories gave us non UV stable rubber.

Colour and brightness will both be affected by the filtering effect if the rubber. The more it turns yellow, the greener the light will look.

Would these two items be all I need to duplicate the setup of the listing on ebay? I know a cell battery is not very powerful but as long as it works, I'm ok with it.

You will probably have to store that box in the collar somewhere, but plus the attached NIKE sheet and you should be well on your way.

When I open the NIKE logo document on Photoshop the dimensions are 11.692" x 8.267" - that is why I'm concerned that when I print it on an 8.5" x 11" paper it will distort the size that the logo needs to be.

Any tips?

Do I change the dimensions?
Do I print as is?
Do I "fit to screen" when I print?

It's a European document size, that's why it's larger than letter-size and a little off.

Just print as-is, don't scale or resize, and you'll end up losing the logos on the sides. But how many logos you need right? You will still have 16 logos to play with.

Where do you guys get your EL sheet from? I found a site but each 10cm x 10cm sheet is $14 and you can only use it once - so I will need two. Any cheaper place to get them?
