NIKE MAG Knockoffs

Have you ordered a pair?
I got a pair of v1 or 2 or whatever te black ones are lol an who ever sent them sent via ems and also wrote shoes gift on the box? I hope that's not to keep coustomes away because I doubt it will be written on the v2 box...

Il be so gutted if I don't get them after paying 250 for them.

I've not dude but I don't see why you wouldn't get them mate. I've ordered many items, large and small from Asia and like I said I've only had a few that I've had to pay more at customs

If you scroll up i posted a pic of a aqua LED that i will replace with the blue ones, i might phase in EL in the sole's if the 2nd batch of v2's don't have, but we will see.

Main priority is to replace the stock v2 strap, the rest of the mods can follow, sole el/aqua leds, toe correction and redo the area around the cuffs with metal rod inserts to stop the cowboy boot look that is happening when there is no foot in them, i can't stand how they flare out at the top.

ok, so you are getting the v2s and just adding EL Light in the strap first.

are you planning to completely rip the uppers off from them and put your black uppers on them?

or you going to get another v2 pair to complete your black mag project on?

Strap first then figure out best way to get into the sole and go from there but I'm starting to lean more on the idea of putting EL in the sole as it would look a lot more authentic, changing out LEDs was just a lazy way out :p

Hopefully I don't have to rip any mags apart if I can get a pair of rubber soles from Cavx if all pulls through and apply them to the kmag sole, after seeing what Mitas did with sugru I think the kmag sole is good enough and i would rather support another rpfer than give my cash to a factory, hey if all else fails I can easily get another pair of v2's strip the rubber soles spray them black and chuck in some red el, rubber soles back on and job done.

Who knows though I don't want to say all this then find my shoes seized by customs, lets wait till they arrive..:popcorn

Here's the inside detail of the buckle as Cavx requested. Ignore the inverter :p

where do you get your little circuit boards from?

which is the best shop to get them from?
thanks

im thinking of taking off that 3v inverter like you've done and making a custom wiring with the leds and rechargeable battery.

just not sure what resisters are required for 3v coin cell batteries.

would love to have a tutorial for this, so we can put everything in the buckle, and not have to mess around with cutting things out in the soles.

the rechargable jack and battery is also sounding great the way clonemag has done it.

Silicone test #2 :)

Because this is just a test, I didn't bother with neat edges. In fact some of the rubber tore as I removed it.

The close up shot may not show this, but the squares are indeed recessed into the rubber producing the perfect "waffle" effect.

And as you can see from the 3rd image, it back lights beautifully.

This was made with bathroom silicone and an ice cube. I squeezed a heap of silicone onto the left outer-sole of the size US11 V1 K-MAG sole and then smoothed into shape with the ice cube.

After 2 days, I peeled it off the sole and it matched up to the right sole. This method could be used to make perfect fitting left and right sides.

Awesome work Cavx! Can't believe it's bathroom silicone :O

Thanks and yeah, pretty amazing results from a $8 tube of bathroom goo :lol
So what I think I need to do is re-do the molding process, then cast some plaster from the silicone mods to be sculpted into the shape of the parts that will be a part of the final shoe, then mold that and cast away :) I will need some help with that, so sleepless, if your around...

OK grey mesh UPDATE time :)

I don't think I am ready for a dedicated MAG build #2 thread just yet, so will continue to post here for a while.

UPDATE: Grey Mesh MAGs Begin!

I've been busy on this tonight, so here is where I am up to now.

I started with the the prototype white mesh MAG [still pinned] sitting on the grey mesh. This is a pretty fair colour comparison of the colour if the grey.

I then unpinned that and laid it out flat so I could use it as a pattern.
attachment.php

I then traced the pattern onto the grey mesh reversing each part to make left and right sets.
attachment.php

Then I cut out the parts and pinned them together.

And now they are all ready for sewing with this natural #20 UV stabilized thread.

As it is now past mid-night here and I gorgeous wife's :love birthday, I'll continue this later :cool

Right now I am really struggling with adding the new laces to my MPs. I just can't seem to make it work. Any help?

Are you able to access the bottom seam? I think you will need to split that open to pass your laces through between the outer cloth and the foam rubber that the cloth is glued to.

I will suggest that you will be best sewing the elastic in place at the base line. When I do mine, I'll be stitching the laces at the top and base of the inner. The outer shell will then be stitched and folded over to hind the stitches. I am actually still processing this idea and might just use the older white mesh MAGs as liners to experiment on.

I'll document how I do mine, but it might not be of use to you for the MP conversion.

That grey looks awesome Cavx! The pic where all the pieces are laid out looks like a nike mag pattern kit you have bought, loving it! Great progress :thumbsup

Thanks Taff83 :) Yeah after 13 revisions, I have to be getting close now :lol

I thought I would document stuff not normally seen with this build, so I might even show some of my neater stitching. I also want to show how I intend to do the laces etc, so heaps of photos to come.

Yes, I have access to all that. I just can't get things to stay in places I want them to. If only I had a lab assistant of some sort lol. And the way I'm doing mine so that the laces are tight when I put them on is pulling the elastic down as far as it can go without stretching it and trying to glue that in place. But it seems like I need an extra set of hands to keep everything in place and in view.

My cloneprops Ankle Buckles just arrived from shapeways :) I am one happy camper right now. These are awesome :) Thank you cloneprops :thumbsup

It is pleasing to know I was at least on the right path with my Vac Formed part.

Yeah I know that feeling. Even if I were an octopus, there are days when I still wouldn't have enough arms.

I would be sewing that elastic because the last thing you want is for the glue to let go after you put the shoe back together.
