NIKE MAG Knockoffs

Thanks for be one of the first to enjoy with my pieces!!!

Again, thank you for making them possible. I just hope now that everyone that said they would buy your kits (from traditional casting methods) puts their money where their mouth is and buys these 3D printed parts. The quality is exceptional and these Ankle Buckles can be used on the shoe as they are.

Pd:Your clear soles with silicone looks very good ,excellent idea, the shore grade is in the "aceptable level" in some silicones, and dont turn yellow!!

As I discovered, there are several different types of silicone and therefore there would be a suitable one for this task. What I did notice with the first test was that where my OC80A clear soles slipped on the tiles, the silicone had excellent grip. I am a more than a little excited about this.

I'm not buying them so I don't know, but has the message on shoesbagonsale about the Mags been changed/updated? It now reads 'Nike MAG light shoes.{Good News} .Already finish produce and READY!!!'... the price is $199. Apologies if people are already aware of this!

Does anyone think that cloneprops will have heel cups for sale on the same site for his ankle buckles? I think that he strongly hinted at it.

He said he is going to, however the catch 22 might be the NIKE logo. I don't see MAG as being a problem, but there could be for the NIKE logo. The best thing for his to do is not name the part with anything that draws attention to NIKE or MAG. That way it is up to chance that NIKE may stumble onto it.

Well, I may be done with the wait for the infamous V2-3!

I'm not going to hold my breath just yet, but I just won an auction for a real pair at an unreal price. Despite the single feedback rating, and use of stock images, I felt safe enough to give it a go considering its through eBay and PayPal.

My only speculation is that the seller may refuse to honor the auction. My Paypal payment says unclaimed, which could be a bad sign. I've contacted the seller, so we'll see. From what I understand, there is not much more you can do than leave negative feedback, unless you want to take it up with small claims court. I may be paranoid, but its already happened with this product from what I understand

That is very good news. I'm definitely going to get a pair of those along with a pair of ankle buckles in the future.

When choosing a lace width, should I go with 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch? In some shots the laces differ in width it looks like.

When cloneprops first showed us his work, everyone with MAGs suddenly wanted a kit. Then came a price announcement (because of of the work involved) and suddenly most of those lost interest. Using shapeways to 3D print, and suddenly we can have both the accuracy and the lower cost. I just hope all those that said they wanted his kits support him now and buy his parts. I am keen for what ever parts he does and hope soles are available as well.

4x 1/2" laces for the US9 (or is that really 8.5?) MAGs. I do like the look of 3/4", but only if you were to use 3 as I did on my leather MAGs.

Not to be a downer, but I hope you all realize that what you get from shape ways is a plastic 3d print. It won't be much use to you until you mold, master, remold, and cast in your desired color and material. First of all, 3d printing puts down layers of plastic which results in print lines, hence the need to remaster them. Second, even if they were finished pieces, plastic would be nonfunctional. Even for a static prop, I doubt you could get it printed clear for the sole, and you won't get the look you want from plastic.

That said, it's a great start if you're willing to do the work and pay the money in materials to get the parts molded and cast.

Those look great! Do the ankle buckles have print lines like leiter22 has said? And are the shoes still comfortable with the new ankle buckles?

Did have print lines, if you use tamiya fine white matte primer it covers it and protects the buckle.

Ye they fit great, the 3D print is "flexible white" so it's perfect.

Given I've spent $300 just on the clear soles, a bit more to master cast these parts is really a non issue.

The 3D printed part as is, is fully functional. It is strong and flexible. I am considering filling the backs in and molding them though to get a nice thick part.

Yes, when the other parts are released, these will have to cast in the proper materials.

If anyone missed it, v2's with cloneprops buckles and el strap so far :)

Hope you like!

These look better with the 100% accurate part.

Do you just buy this paint from model shops?

Nope I got the tamiya fine matte primer from eBay, was about £5, it helps give it a more smoother look with a slight shine to it and helps remove the 3d printed layer lines(thanks Cloneprops for suggesting that) it doesn't completely remove the lines unless i guess you put alot of coats on but i was worried about the velcro end of the strap detail being lost with all the layers so i put enough on to just cover and no more, i'm happy :)

I am a little confused as to where to buy this stuff now. I was told a toys shop like Mr Toys will have it, yet paint specialist don't even seem to know what it is. Good ol eBay...

Nice cavx!!

I'm planning to continue the modifications of my MP Air Mag haha!
I'm thinking about buying the kits that cloneprops got left, as he doesn't have any soles left, i'll just replace the buckle and the back of the shoes I'll try to re work on the blue stains on the main sole. I will also buy the clear soles from S02!

I was thinking of changing the laces too and replace them with thicker laces, and maybe create the same shoe laces from the movie...

I will slim the toes too, I was thinking of using Gorilla super glue? Is this one transparent?
I want to remake the swoosh too, any idea what would be a good material to make them? (thanks)

What do you guys think? ^^'

These are my shoes so far:

You're almost there. Throw the new ankle buckle, heel cup and clear soles and you're pretty darn close. Once you slim the toe you've got something that you can be happy with from here on out. As for the gorilla glue, you must choose the clear white version, also be careful because gorilla glue grows when it dries so don't over do it.
