Marked and cut the excess off to reduce the height at the back of the heel.

After the chop. Yeah I know it looks rough, I'll clean that up soon. I might use a bit of acetone to melt the rough bits.

Will you use surgru like I did? And does acetone really work on smoothing things out? I might have to try that.

I'll most likely just use Shoe Goo because it is what I have on hand. Be very careful with the acetone. It will eat certain parts of the shoes. I did use it on the mid-soles when I had to remove some of that grey paint I did the PVC upper in and it made the spots where I rubbed it quite smooth. I dare say it would eat the urethane if enough was used.

well im putting in my order for 10 pairs of version 2 knockoffs as soon as i get back from holiday in mid January.

im getting 4 or 5 pairs in size 11 (uk) for myself and a relative, and for the rest a few different sizes if anyone needs a pair in UK or europe.

also jedi, I watched some of your diy vids, pretty informative, but could you elaborate on where I might find the material you used for the straps please sir? spefically the leather and the wire tape. I cant seem to find that anywhere.
