NIKE MAG Knockoffs

Are you really expecting him to answer the call? A scratch build in 2 weeks? Lets see it :love

I for one would be mightily-impressed with a 2 MONTH scratch-build.

He's already backed off the 2-week timeframe though, saying he will get it done in "about" 2 weeks. So technically he has a few more days before he passes the 2.5-week mark and is closer to 3 weeks than 2. :cool

Unlike someone that took about 7 months and still got it wrong :lol

Time frames aside, I want to see his claim to be able to produce the "most accurate MAG replica".

Not sure how accurate these are. I used IMPACT (Itallic) inn PAINT with a bit or resizing where H = 100% and V = 90% then just widened a few lines by 1 or 2 pixel widths or so.

These should be the right size for your size 11s as the strap, IMO does need to be a bit wider then 25mm for the larger sizes.

Go to a stationary shop and buy the clear printable sheets used for over head projection and you can print or photocopy directly onto them.

The font Nike uses is called "Futura condensed extra bold".
It's also freely available online:

Edit:
I went over your image in Photoshop using the font I mentioned above and went over the black shapes.

The real NIKE logo [with SWOOSH]

Interesting. Mine is the top. Notice the K and E are joined? They are not in your example below and this was the mistake I make in the first version I did on my leather MAGs. As for the thickness of the letters, I seen examples where they are thick as mine are and thinner. Anyone with more knowledge want to chime in? Please do so.

Well this isn't me speculating or anything about the font.
It's known that it's the actual font they use.

The lack of the K and E joining is nothing more than letter spacing.
When you use something like Photoshop and not paint, you have more options with your typeface. Anything that is inaccurate in my example is just due to lack of tweaking on my part.

If I changed the letter spacing to be ever so slightly closer, those letters would connect.

Nike themselves have even licensed shirts that openly celebrate their font:

They also modified the font when used in their main logo to distinguish their logo from the font.
If I make a couple of changes after typing "NIKE" out, it becomes:

Mine is in gray.

It seems that they have a few.

See what you make of THIS link.

I've just looked at the link and that font is incorrect.

For a start, the font they claim (impact) was created in 1995, whereas the Nike logo looked the way it does now way back in 1978.

If you want further proof, Nike uses their logo font in their advertisements too.

Here is an example I have quickly thrown together through modifying the ads used for the 2011 mags:
2vsotgz.png

- The original untouched text on the original ad is in white.
- "Futura condensed extra bold" is in pink beneath it.
- The claimed "impact" font is in green at the bottom.

Edit: After checking it appears that Impact was made in 1965, and the site merely put the wrong date. Regardless it is not the font Nike uses.

I just noticed something. In the original pictures that we got, the shoe look like they're difference sizes. You can see it the most in the picture with the shoes heel to heel. Things don't line up. Has anyone else noticed this?

Only two days till our next promised release date, the 24th.
Not holding my breath. Kind of expecting to read, shipping will be early December which will follow the path of November.

I thought it was 1971? Anyway...

If you take the IMPACT and compress it vertically by 10~15%, it tends to look much more like the desired font. Probably still not 100%, but if you are looking for a quick solution. The IMPACT full stop is square, not round too.
So Future Condensed Ext Bold is it then... YAY!

Are you referring to the V2 K-MAGs? They probably are different sizes for the shots. They did that with the V1s as well.

I just talked to Vicky on shoesbagonsale and she said that they don't have the shoes in stock to order anymore. Bummer...

So was this really a limited run or are they spitting the dummy based on the troubles that seem to be having?

They should take them off the site then. You can still add them to your cart.

This whole deal has been a bit mis-leading IMO.

Are they still fulfilling orders already placed??

They had better. If they were going to a runner, they would have done so by now.
