NIKE MAG Knockoffs

I edited my post to be more specific. I was thinking cutting the sides down a little, making more accurate sides with clay, make a mold of it, and cast new soles. But I don't know what materials to get or how expensive that would be. But oh well, by the time I would get them in the mail, the V2s would be out.

You could do that, but for a one off, it is not a cheap prospect.

First up is the master (clay) which is fairly inexpensive to make.

Then you take a silicone mold of that and as airair found out, not cheap and you can use your product fairly quickly if you do something wrong.

Then there is the clear elastomer that make you will make the part from.

Even out of China, clear elestomer is still going to cost a couple hundred bucks. The last quote I got was for 5KG at about $250 which is about half of the local cost. The reason I am not jumping at this is that if the product does not work as I hope, there is no after sales service. Buying it locally gives me access to the sales reps that know the ins and outs of the product.

When I did my pair, I did not have a vacuum chamber and as a result, I ended up with bubbles right through the soles.

I also made mine flat like a sheet then cut and glued it up and because it was so thin, it did not produce enough exo-therm to really set properly and as result, I lost a heap of product. So my soles cost me $200 to make which is more the shoes that went on cost.

Thanks for clearing things up for me.

Hi all

I feel like waiting to see if others get there nike mags 1st before I commit, is shoebagonsale legit - I`d like to place an order just now with them, but the other company who has spoke to me said that she will be selling them for $260 - she said she cant do cheaper because her company wont make any profit.

I keep asking every morning the same question to these companys "any news on the nike mags" and each reply comes with a dreaded "No"

Taff83 - im from Glasgow mate, Drumchapel to be precise, but now live in england ;-)

Should I place an order with shoebag

thanks all

the guy originally told me the wholesalers would get them 18th/19th. now been told more like 24th november.

apparently, they've had some problems with the lights.:facepalm:facepalm

I was told the factory guys are not that well versed in electronics (you can't blame them really, its the person in charge of the replication who should have the full knowledge of how they want the shoe constructed)

You see most of the shoes they've been replicating have been standard sneakers with the most complex parts being intricate fabrics and designs.

i'm still quite amazed none of them have grasped the simple concept of EL Lights and inverters.:behave

Shoebagsonsaleonsale or pickgoodshoes is who I went with and I am very confident in receiving my three pairs from them.

I only live in Aberdeen for the oil, I'm originally from Wales ;P

Hi Taff

do you think I should place an order, or should I wait mate.

I used to work in Dyce at a place called Expro, I was a pressure tester and wireline ;-)

ps - I have just checked shoesbag, they only send by DHL - are they reliable to deliver things or do they hit you with custom charges or vat charges.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Hey, also a Welsh boy here. Lived in Scotland, England, Wales and now Tokyo.

As for Red's shoes...He should really be posting progress pics. Isn't that kind of the point of this forum in many ways?

Personally it's six and 2 threes.. shoebags has them cheaper but charge you more for shipping, pickgoodshoes is a higher market price but cheaper shipping.

Both companies will 99.9% put them down as a gift so you won't have to pay any customs charges, there is always a chance however you will get a charge but from my 2 years experience i have never experienced this, but i have never ordered from these companies before so i am not 100% sure..they all operate basically the same way though which is a positive :)

I prefer customer relations with shoebagsonsale and i generally feel my shoes are in safer hands with them, both are still good though and have good feedback on youtube.

Expro is just round the corner from me, i work at Weatherford T.R.S (just past Cloggy House on the corner) I am contracted to work here under a company called Cosalt. Bet you are glad your out of Dyce!

Well...that's mere days from now. Tho im not confident about these lights lasting more than a day.

Hi Taff :) I am glad I got out of Expro - I was leaving for work at 6 in the morning, and not returning till 6:30 on the night, I stayed in Montrose - the pay was terrible, £198 a week - I heard that Expro was the lowest paying company at that time, which I solely believe.

I was going to order a pair of those nike mags - I just wonder though, when the company do get them in stock, will they ask for a few more $$$$`s to compensate for the rise in the price from factory.

Thanks for your help and information Taff - its much appreciated pal :)
