NIKE MAG Knockoffs

Hey nick can you do an overlay like that with the v1 and see if we're working with the same shoe/different material?

i was looking at my V1s and I'm pretty sure it's the same shoe just redesigned with the lights and new material...the only difference is the "Nike Mag" heel cup where the LEDs now are. instead of plastic

After further review, they do seem to be taller than the v1 mag, I'm in with brad, toe slim and el (assuming they get the right colors on led) then 95% accurate. Confident in my purchase.

Still waiting for a cloneprop pair

Toe slimming and EL additions

I agree that's all they really need, green LEDs if need be but that is minor detail to add later in the conversion.

So inverter in the sole hooked up to strap and sole EL (inc resistors in the set up) but will the battery be ok which is installed to take everything? Or would we have to install 9v batteries again?

Here's a quick Photoshop job showing a slimmer toe.

I'm really glad that they made the clear soles accurate to the movie instead of the 2011 mags. I don't really like the blue frost look. Very happy how they turned out, but I probably will do some mods.

Honestly, if I wore those to a car show or convention - NO ONE would catch any of the innacuracies. Heck, at the last Comic Con we went to I had some hyperdunk knockoffs on display and you would be amazed how many people thought they were Mags. Strange and sad all at the same time :)

The LEDs on these shoes are slanting the wrong way. They go down instead of up. That's something that needs to be fixed too.

They got everything right that I had hoped for except the toe. I wish I didn't have to do that part but its not a big deal at all to fix...

Looking at the pictures again, is it just me or do these looks sort of suede-ish?

I can't make out a fabric texture and it's just got me thinking.

PICSSSS!!!!!!! :thumbsup

What a nice thing to wake up to and see today! Yeah they're about as accurate as I was expecting, which is about 90-95%. Heel cup looks great (although why is it so hard for them to center the writing?), the paint splatter looks great, the inward curve of the laces area looks great, even though the laces themselves are a little too wide. Basically the shape of the whole upper is a HUGE improvement.

The toe area isn't too big of a deal to me, but hopefully they'll improve the lights. They have that weird blue LED glow in the pics but as someone said maybe they'll still change these in the factory. EL soles would be nice, since adding them to the strap ourselves would be much easier than tearing into the soles.

And to repeat many others, what's the best site to order from? Reliability, takes credit card, not $200, etc....
(I'm gonna look back through the posts to see what I can find)

Here is what I will do to these...

Spot on mate!

the toe thingy isn't that big a problem.
I've emailed the guy who sent me the pictures and have asked to confirm whether these are the fully finished one, and not just an almost 95% finished shoe which he took pictures of.

You see, i had to pester him for these pictures, and actually made him go the factory to take them.:lol

He did tell me a few days before he sent these pics they were having trouble with the strap lighting, so maybe thats why they didn't put the EL in?

Although i've asked if they are indeed putting the EL lights in the soles.

If the El Lights are in the soles, then that will be a whole lot of hassle saved.

If i get a response, ill let everyone know.

But for $99 to $150 I reckon they are worth it, even if they do require some mild modifications to be perfectly accurate.

This time they got the main features right, clear soles, correct rubber sole, and correct heel cup/buckle.

Ive looked at the rubber soles. They are indeed based on the first knockoff versions, but have been improved, as the front area is now level with rest of the sole, ie now they are almost same as the real ones.

They got everything right that I had hoped for except the toe. I wish I didn't have to do that part but its not a big deal at all to fix...

are you going to rip the entire uppers off?

im going to try it, but i hate that glue that they use! it was bloody strong on the first knockoffs!
