NIKE MAG Knockoffs

Do I spy charging ports on the TOPS of the buckle? Hmmm.

I think a lot of peole were thinking the same Pitbull. Honestly, i'm only annoyed about the lack of splayed soles. The toes are an easy fix.

I'm definitely pleased with the direction, but I can't help but think of mods I want to make since they aren't as accurate as I thought they'd be. (toe adjustment, swapping out the white ankle cuff, EL conversion, etc)

Does that make me a huge nerd?

......yes:lol

Looks like no lights on the strap. Have to fix that.

The shoe almost looks like a Jedifyfe/2011 hybrid.

Also a shame that the upper is an improvement on the laces but the rest of the upper is really way off on the stitching etc. Was hoping for clean pull holes sans stitching. Hopefully the electronics are easily taken out to accomodate custom uppers.

Can't wait to get me mitts on these.

I def. think those are charging ports from what I can see...that makes me excited for sure! I'm so glad I ordered a pair eventhough not 100% accurate.

Now, here's my question/theory...for all of us that have the V1 K-Mags, doesn't it look like they just took the body of the V1s and re-did them with new fabric and put the lights in them...? The only thing that's a big difference is the way the "Nike Mag" heel cup is placed...that's it.

I can live with being a nerd. My question is who is going to be the brae soul to dissect these this time. I was the test pilot for dissection on the v1s, but I'm not sure I'll have the stomach for it this time around.

no! i was thinking the same thing. Part of me was hoping these would be 95% accurate. I think overall they are 90% accurate.

The toe is not a problem. Its the lack of EL for me! I'm surprised since EL sheets are so common in China.

I was told the strap MAY yet have an EL light on it, just waiting on an email back. These are from the actual factory floor, so i'm hoping they are making some last minute tweaks.

Having said that though, these should be easy to modify if you are prepared to rip off the uppers and glue them back! although having seen the way the first knockoffs were glued, it will be difficult not to ruin the uppers when taking them off!

I might give it a go! depending on how strong the glue is!
the other ones were a bugger to cut off.

Well, I'm not dissapointed at all, big improvement over the V1. I hope the toe section can be easily redone.

Do you guys know any site they're under $100?

Heat and patience are your friends. I've pulled them apart too and one I hacked apart, the other was a slow process with a sharp blade, a blow dryer, and an iPod to pass the time.

Lets start compiling a list of potential changes so that we're prepared when these start arriving:

-Innacurate toe
-No EL
-Possible incorrect bubble LED colors
-Nearly flat bubble
-No cambered sole inserts
-Exposed stitching on pull hole
-Too short
-Laces too thick
-White ankle border/cuff does not appear to be leatherette (tough to tell though)

That's just what I can see off the top of my head. Anything to add so we can be more organized this time around?

-Nick

thats a good list,
i think the upper white border is too puffy. it seems like they didn't learn from the first knockoffs.

i think its funny also, i actually don't think many of the suppliers that have listed these for sale have even seen these pics yet!

I think will start getting them in stock sometime next week.

Here's a really quick overlay of the outline of the 2011 Mags with the V2s, accounting for basic perspective shifts, but not all distortions:

the height is the biggest thing throwing off the look. If the "face" of the upper was longer and the ankle taller these would be 95% there.

Wow. Well, frankly I'm suprised that there are any lights in the bottom at all.

Too bad the toe is not lower. But hey, the sole is clear, there's splatter on the sole, and it comes with most of the lights. Really glad I got in for two pairs before the price hikes, can't wait to see what you guys come up with on improvements.

Hey nick can you do an overlay like that with the v1 and see if we're working with the same shoe/different material?

Hell yeah! Toe slimming and EL additions, here I come!! I can't believe I got these for $84 shipped!!!!

its the exact same sole as the first knockoffs, except instead of foam, its in the correct rubber casting now.

i think the soles, heel up and buckle are good enough.

just the lack of EL light is a let down. Although i'm still waiting to hear if they are going to fix that before they start selling.
