Absolutely gorgeous work, man!
How much time have you put into that bad boy so far? It seriously looks great.
What's the upper made from? 2mm of eva foam backed in 2mm upholstery foam? Whatever it is, it looks dead on.
Would love to see some WIP pictures if you've got them.
Keep up the awesome work.

thanks
well for this prototype Size 12 US, its 1.5mm eva craft foam (the package states 2mm, but i measure 1.5mm), then glued to that is simply 1mm sponge sofa upholstery foam.
this makes it very stiff and it keeps shape, but im trying to find a slightly thinner eva foam. 1mm would be perfect i think but if i cant find any, craft foam it is then.
I'm going to actually make 2 different versions. One which is a RD style version, and another which is a movie style version.
this weekend was the first time in a long while i touched these.
I think ive spent quite a bit of time fixing the template for the uppers over many weeks very slowly.
I remember when i did my first attempt, they looked ok, but something wasn't looking right.
So i went back to pictures and screenshots of the screen used shoes and compared them with the 2011 RD shoes from virtually all angles. These shoes really do look different depending on the angle, its quite awkward sometimes.
There's not much difference in the look between the movie and RD shoe. The main things in difference between the movie and RD shoe I spotted are the square bits near the uppers where the light strap wraps around and the type of fabric used, and stiffness of the uppers.
And lastly the front toe fabric section in the movie shoe has either got nothing underneath or it or a very thin spongy layer to give it the "sock" type feel.
for a RD style look, all you have to do is keep the EVA foam layer glued to the sponge layer, otherwise for the movie look, you just seperate the foam from the eva layer, and cut off the front toe section from the eva layer.
You get the perfect sock type feel then.
I'm still tweaking these.
I'm going to compare with the V2 knockoffs soon.
