New Tomenosuke Blaster Pro "Retail" version

In this picture, that is perfect as reference because you have general ambient light, no hard shadows or contrast as in most of Blade Runner, you can see easily the gun colors. Polished gun metal for Steyr parts, gloss black for revolver covers and plastic Steyr ammo box. That gun metal is very simmilar as the one seen in the Worldcon photos, minus the pitting and oxide.

Blade Runner photography is very dark, contrasted and used many spot and neon lights, to give that feeling or hard life in a uber-city, and to add the "film noir" spirit to it. That is why even with the blu ray captures is hard to tell what color and finishes the props had. Best source is try to find pictures with a lot of ambient light, that goes for vehicles, props, clothes. It's surprising how can the photography setting can alter the color of a particular prop.

That's the most convincing photo. Thanks.

Still, I personally believe that Scott understood that a properly blued gun would be almost opaque with his intended lighting and exposure. I think he wanted it to still look like a blued gun so he "cheated" the prop to make it look proper. I believe it's supposed to look like a blued gun. So I'm going for an idealized BR gun as it was meant to appear - not a prop reproduction.

I'm not a purist. I just want to please the 16 year old in me who was mesmerized in 1982 by this film. That's just me.

Sure, everyone has to do what he likes the most, this is our hobby :) . I love studying the prop down to minute details so I can make a very precise replica but. I would like to make 2 blasters: one that resembles as much as possible the one used in the film and a "factory new" one, with blued parts.

Got mine yesterday. The finish on my bullets was rough. It did come with a replacement butt plate. Other than the flat black, it is nice!

Yep...I've built about 6 Coyle kits I think?...I've sold them all...it was tough but I needed the $ more than the blasters! I got a kit coming from Tome and I am picking up a few more from Rich...all of which I'm going to keep this time :) !...going to do one street used version, one perfect "just issued" version and one of my own I'm going to call the Tyrrell "security" version withe Tyrrell owl cast in bronze inlaid into a set of wooden hand carved grips...

That's a clever idea, corporate issued.
Go me thinking now the opposite......
Wonder what a replicant would do to a captured weapon, kind of ghetto/street living in the big abandoned buildings.
Some kind of wrap on the grips for instance. Maybe ditches the laser sight for iron sights since replicants should
have great vision.

Are there pictures of the kit version? or is it the same as the previous kit run with the minor improvement tweaks.

And is it sold out?

Kit IS sold out for now...more will be released later in the year...I believe its like you described...

From what I gather there will be a limited run done later this year, but only for the Japanese market, and this is the last release so im told :/

That it is...this is their final version and no more will be made after the last release...
I'm gathering the tools and info to try a scratch build out of metal for myself...not quite there yet but by next year I should be close...

There has to be a way to strip that black off. I'm not fond of the chrome finish on the butt plate either.

Re: New Tomenosuke Blaster Pro "Retail" version

I thought the butt plate was just polished bare metal..... chrome plated you mean?

Maybe no more fine tuning and retooling...perhaps....but I reckon they will still make more of these, probably with different box graphics and different finish treatments to the metal surfaces. Hard to see the Tomenosuke guys stop this completely.:popcorn

...they said final version they arrived at. I don't think they said no more production... Not sure if they mean limited edition.
Now that they "perfected" the design and production, it would be hard to stop offering.
Maybe other renditions?
we will see...

i hope the the but plate on the kit is not plated.
