New Star Trek TOS Phaser coming November 2014

There are six complete p2 phasers in the middle, five power pack/ handles on the right, and even though only one is barely visible, five p1 phasers on the left side (i think). If I was smart, I would cast five handles/p1' s for the locker, but I have wanted this since I saw the Galileo Seven episode when I was twelve (thirty eight years ago) , so I'm gonna do it right :)

I totally get the appeal. I'm doing the same, but not with Wand phasers. I'll be doing it all with scratch-built heroes, except the P1s will be midgrades. You can see the silver stripe wrapped around the back of the only P1 you can see. I'm also likely to make those faux handles on the power pack side.

My plan is to just make it a static display that hangs on the wall, since knocking a hole in the wall isn't practical in an apartment. :)

It'll probably be laser-cut styrene and acrylic on a wood frame, with perhaps an aluminum bracket that mounts to the wall behind it. All those hero phasers are gonna weigh something. :)

I'm having a hard time programming and actually using this as a remote, but it's a great looking replica!

I created this PDF sheet in Illustrator and have made it available as a free download, which anyone can freely print and share.

The sheet includes the GJ version, the TMOST/Finney version, and the Tech Manual version in four different scales. The Wand Phaser size is the third one down.

Here's the link to the file,

Merry Christmas! :)

Trying to download the .pdf file but I get
"You need permission

Merry Christmas.

BTW: What's TMOST?

Crap! I'll fix that immediately. My apologies - Google Drive is new to me. I probably set the permissions wrong.

TMOST = The Making of Star Trek by Stephen Whitfield. Here's the relevant page showing the "Finney" phaser with the watch crown:

If you want a copy, it'll be no trouble at all. It's probably the single most plentiful Star Trek title ever made, owing to the large number of printings. You can find it on Amazon or eBay, but I have the best luck at used book stores, where you can find it at really, really low prices, even for first editions. I think I have a dozen copies.

I've fixed the permissions -- that should do it.

I hope everybody had a very nice Xmas this year.

To the point of this post, I read some disturbing news about thinkgeek.com and I would like to ask you guys who ordered from thinkgeek or startrek.com.
If you guys don't mind can you post defective units from tg or st .
The reason I am asking is I found out that tg is possibly sending out returned units as NIB and reselling them, hence why obviously defective units are being received by customers.
So again , if you got a bad 1 please respond with the defect and the seller= ie. thinkgeek or startrek.com

"Thank in advance for replying :ninja

For anyone interested here is a little naked phaser.

For anyone interested in the process. Not for the faint at heart. Take care not to put the blade in too deep as the battery is in the rear of the phaser. I took a flat blade on my large Xacto knife, and starting from the rear seam by the port started prying the upper shell up. That opened up a gap, and then I was able to start moving down the side between the upper shell, and the midplate applying pressure to the upper shell until it broke free. The process must be done in small increments so that you don't stress the body. Once the gap starts then you have to move down the line.

In your opinion is the battery going to be replaceable (especially for a novice person)?

I have a DStines "super phaser 2" I bought years ago. The one with the vibrating and rechargeable handle. The only problem is now the battery in the handle is pretty much shot (I think). I can charge and charge it and the only thing the P2 does is lightly vibrate....no sounds or lights anymore. I have no idea how to have it fixed.

I hate for that to happen to the Wand P1 in the future since it's rechargeable.

Vidman:
Mine came from Thinkgeek and so far no problems (don't jinx myself ...don't jinx myself)

Got mine for xmas. Very pleased with it as is however I'd like a foam insert for the case that allows it to be stored fully assembled.

Hello all Happy Holidays!
Well I received my 3rd replacement Phaser the day before Christmas and it seems like the vibrating motor is damaged! it's extremely loud and out of balance :( being this is my 3rd replacement i'm giving up on getting a perfect one!!
Sad that these things are happening to such a beautiful product! So i wanted to know if theres a way to turn off the vibrating motor from a code or covering a pin on the bottom of the P1? I would try to send it back again but it seems
The replacements i'm getting have worse problems then the last. If anyone can please help I would appreciate it! Thank You Wand Company for making such a wonderful product! Love it so much I bought the 2 Doctor Who Sonic Screwdrivers you manufacture. Love the work and attention to detail you put into them! Hope someone can help with this problem.

The battery is soldered to the circuit board. A novice person may not be able to do it, but it can be done. DStines had a few props where the batteries are almost impossible to access, and was an example to me of why the battery should be able to be changed.

Ordered my from TG the other day, hope to get it soon. Going to polish it up if it's not one of the defective ones.
Looking at the photos of the carrying case I was thinking if their are any Shapways makers on here that can make some sort of handle attachment for it. Once I get my Phaser i'll see if I can draw up a ruff sketch of what I was thinking.
OK, here is a ruff, ruuuffff sketch. Not sure if there is enough room to fit your hand but i'll leave that for someone with better design skills :p

I got some pics of the emitter and the rear fins taken off the phaser. they are not from mine :p

I noticed that TWC used the same emitter extender system on this as did MR except that the MR had a looped pin to ride in the tracks vs. the plastic nib TWC production used.

The rear fins are hooked on like the AA/DST has the rounded section on its fins.
Anyway , here are the pics;

I LOVE that idea! I wish I had the time to do it, because it's very clever and a pretty straightforward job, but I'm up to my assballs in phaser right now, and after that I'm scratch building an Eagle, plus my volunteer work and such, so there's no more me to go around (and considering my, um, size... that's a helluva thing). :p

You might take a look at somewhere like home Depot for cabinet handles.
