NEW OLD BSG VIPER

John Howling Mouse

Its a garage Kit.
This isnt Kmart where everything is pretty on a shelf.
Do know that Everyone who orders gets one. I guarantee fast service, no matter how long it takes. ;-)

We do this for fun and the enjoyment of the hobby and subject matter. We all have REAL JOBS and Lives.

You sound like a bored Loud mouth, talentless Lawyer I once knew. HAHAH
You remember him...he was SHUNNED away and had to start his own board, and took his sycophants with him. They sit there spinning in lies for thier own entertainment. I often through out little goodies on board here, which they monitor, so they SPIN a little faster. Keeps em busy, and out of everyone else hair.

Anyhow, If this is the case, and Ill find out soon enough because someone who still thinks I care will insist on telling me (sigh), or if our shipping methods just dont appeal to you, do me a favor, keep your money.

I sell real estate in southern cal trust me I dont need it. The funds basically come materials and time. I don't do this for profit.

Your proof in the pudding will be the reviews that will splatter all over this thread when the kits arrive.

Best wishes,

Frank

Frank, man that was an awesome pic of the model, execellent job .... You let me/ us know when its ready and those of us that are trusting you ( not that we really need to) will be more than happy to buy/send payment, asap ... Do you ah ? Paypal ? :D But know c'mon we gotta scratchbuild our own landing gear ? what a jip...... <_< :D j/k keep us posted on the progress,

-Mike

Hope you don't mind me asking, but WHO is
making these kit's ? I'm not really looking
for a name or anyone to hassle.. :p

I was just curious as everyone seems to be here in the
U.S. that is involoved with this and in the email I got to confirm
wanting a kit it has EURO'S as the amount for the kit ?

These being shipped from the UK or someplace ?

Sorry, just curious ? B)

The model looks incredible. I just need to scrape up the cash for it. I too would like to see the engines and instruments in clear... It would look super cool lit up through a battery box or DC converter hiden in the base. I'm gonna have to raid the piggy bank ...again ;)

I think its an international effort ;) some people in the states some in Europe - all good people and very talented ;)

"I sell real estate in southern cal trust me I dont need it. The funds basically come materials and time. I don't do this for profit."

I would imagine then that you, of all people, would understand the importance of an upfront written agreement to protect the interests of both parties. A single page would suffice, no legalese required.

Clearly, the photos provided to date depict an extremely high quality product, one that is easily worth the asking price. All I'm seeking is a written promise of a date by which the goods will be shipped or Buyer's money refunded. I've sent money to others for similar goods which simply failed to ship in the end. In some cases, with an agreement in place, I was able to obtain a refund, in others----money down the drain. If I knew you personally, this would not even be an issue.

But I don't, yet I appreciate the piece that Moe has produced and would like to purchase a kit and build it someday...with some assurance that it will arrive within a certain timeframe.

BTW: By no means a lawyer, or loudmouthed, or lacking in talent---just a purchasing agent for an oil company who scratchbuilds models "adequately" as a hobby. :D

Doesnt sound like your written Guarantee ended up being worth much did it?

Sorry, Dont have time for paper work. Hard enough making the damn things.

If that aint good enough....like I said. Keep your money, and we can set up an escrow account with an agency of your choice.

How is that?

;-)

Oh..to answer some questions:

Moe Made the model. Mark help tweak it a bit, Jeff is doing the decals.
Paul is making the pilot, done by the way he is finishing the helmet.

Im molded and cast everything. All parts are pressure cast...so..its time consuming.

Oh...this one is FLYING. There is a landing gear set in the works.
Oh..clear parts will be available.

Jeff and I did the decals :p

This kit is very well done. Some of us worked on the CG models :rolleyes so it was easy to get the info needed. Too bad we couldn't of grown it via SLA. The friend of Jeff and mineÂ’s passed suddenly and he was in the process of growing the Raider and prepping the file of the Viper. The same process we used for many of the models Federation Models carries. They are grown from the CG files. But with that said, Moe did an awesome job. I did some fitting fixes and detail additions but Moe made the thing. I drew the main decals and Jeff researched the rest that are on the 1:1 mock up so together he and I assembled the best decal sheet around ;)
My ALPS died while printing so Jeff took over. Frank, he's playing resin monkey :lol3 I haven't seen the Viper pilot but I'm sure itÂ’s going too great. We had some good pilot reference to use for the sculpt :rolleyes

Now, to address the payment issue, I know lots of people have been shafted. Many on this board. Anyone with a history on the RPF knows Frank follows through. He stands behind his word and product. Were not a mass producer of kits or anything like that, just some guys who decided to make something and are now offering it. This was funded 100% out of our pockets. No pre orders to fund the project. That gets you into trouble. SMT and many others are in the business of taking pre orders to fund projects and I know they (SMT) had an issue that they had to refund things due to a C&D and other issues. These payments are to secure the kits for the interested party. We are not spending any of the cash till they are shipped and received. Once confirmed the money will be distributed in a manner of Franks choosing. So to quote a phrase: " No buck? No Buck Rogers. "

So order if you want them. They will ship and they will arrive.

We are working on the add ons. And other goodies :thumbsup

I feel like making a comment to some of posts here.
My first comment is the word TRUST, you all just have to trust us. I have known Frank in over 4 years now, and he has NEVER given me any reason not to trust him. I know that I'll get my master back, I always do and I know he does the best molding and casting Job as he is as much of a perfectionist as I am.
Yes, indeed, sometimes it's a matter of taking a chance. For example, when I first met him, I trusted him enough to FLY to a country I had never been before, ....and pick me up at the airport. My first time in the US. Not only did he pick me up, feed me for a week, but he got me into SKYWALKER RANCH...

Does this sound like a decent guy to you?

Second, this is a garage kit and we are doing this for fun. I build it for the pure challenge of it, and will most likely do another BSG ship soon, just for the thrill and fun.
Yes it took me around 4 month to build and it has taken Frank longer to do the rest of the work, but we both have regular jobs and family to attent to therefore things can take a bit longer than planned. I do know that Frank is working his butt off as we speak and he didn't even have time to chat cuz his garage was sceaming his name. He has already made a lot, so shipment should be quick when we are ready for that.

And yes, it is a combined international effort. Me and Frank, and several highly talented trusted others.

So, I do hope all of you will give us the time needed to finish this project and take the chance with the Postal services around the world. Im not worried at all, me living in Denmark, Frank in the USA. I always get my stuff. And if any of you don't know where the two contries are well.......
Oh, I asked for the EUROS...cuz..the dollar is too unstable.

Moe

PS; Not that I want to brag, but this model is awesome

What I did was make the PayPal payment to you today, Frank (including the requested 3% surcharge), and entered within PayPals remarks section all the basic essential transaction details that give me the warm and fuzzies.

I'm just hoping to avoid some past experiences with others. If this works out, I promise to be one of your most vociferous public supporters.

Not to bash, but . . .

All I can say is Frank, and Co, have MORE than enough “credit” for me. I paypal'd them the funds about 5 minutes from him emailing him the offer. I've done business in the past with Frank personally, and I can vouch for not only the quality of his work but his personal business integrity. If you haven't been around awhile, I suggest you read the old X thread where Frank offered parts kits PRIOR to the CC X and NOT ONE POST THERE shows ANY dissatisfied customers.

Frank and Co have made more goodies available to the SS modeler than most people can even dream about. If I ever get the cojones to start my 32 Falcon, can you guess who I'll be emailing and begging for part casts from? Yep Frank and Co. If I ever get too far over my head and can't find that one elusive part, you'd better believe thatÂ’s who I'll be dropping a line to first to see what kind of deal we can work out, because odds are theyÂ’ve had it in their hands (and of course took a cast of it) at some point.

As far as online "trust", good contacts are like a golden goose. Don't kill 'em with paper contracts, harassing emails etc. If they're good, which most everyone I've dealt with is, they'll come through, sooner or later. Hell, it took CC almost 8 months of delays to finally get the X kit out to those of us who preordered it from him, sight unseen based solely on his "credit" with people I trusted and knew. Ditto for his now mass-produced and available 1/12 Merc capsule, which had its share of delays but was way worth it in the end.

So, do some research on your own about who you’re buying from, if they look “golden”, and you haven’t heard anything negative, AND its something you know you’ll never get any other way, hell, GO FOR IT.

Note too that Frank gave everyone the option that covered their bases if fraud was a concern “POSTAL MONEY ORDERS PREFERRED. That way if YOU DON’T GET YOUR VIPER it's POSTAL FRAUD. You are protected.”
‘nuff said.

Now, looks like someone else is working on the Raider, and now the MK VII is up next here . . . hmm . . . looks like IÂ’m gonna need some more money . . . time to start giving Plasma again.
