On Friday I got home from a long day from work. It was raining…and I was tired. My mood changed when I saw a box sitting on the table from a name I recognized. In the box was a ship I have be yearning to see. My brand spanking new 1/24 scale Viper. You couldn’t have pried it out of my hands that night. Its in scale with the Studio Scale Viper from the original BSG, so I got to hold it up next to that kit and admire it. At about 15” long, it’s around the same size as the original too (and will look great displayed with it... ) The ship itself is beautiful, and this recreation catches all of it’s beauty.
First, let me saw..WOW. The sculpting on this is nothing short of AMAZING. The people involved in this project all should be commended on their skillÂ…truly stunning. My weekend for good photo taking was shot due to rain, but I did do my best to get you some shots of this kit. I can assure you, my pictures donÂ’t do the detail justiceÂ…there are so many nuances that will really make the finished kit amazing.
This kit is an early release, and does not have the pilot. ThatÂ’s coming soon.
I was surprised that it contained a nice base, and brass rod for mounting. (Brass will also make lighting it and hiding the electronics in the base easier. J
A quick review:
Kit detail score 10... WowÂ…truly gorgeous.
.
Kit casting score 9. I believe I counted just 3 air bubbles, and all in unobtrusive spots. It will take some time to fit together, with some flash cleanup required, but this is a nice kit. Very solid work casting, and minimal seam lines.
Kit Decals and Instructions - 10... AgainÂ…wowÂ…professional quality. Top notch.
Kit fit – 10... My prefit makes me believe this kit will go together nicely.
As a wrap upÂ…If your like me, you wanted the kit, but the price scared you. Let me assure you, itÂ’s worth it. This kit is superior through and throughÂ…as well as limited. Once itÂ’s gone, itÂ’s gone. DonÂ’t miss owning this bird....
First...the box art. Check the signature.

Here are the instructions, decals, and all the clear plastic Ill need to put the windows in the canopy frame. Note, they took the time to include templates in the instructions for this.
