I have been a star wars fan since 1979 and finally decided to get off my ass and start doing some of things I kept putting off with making my own props and my own mando. As much as I would love to have replica costumes of the fetts, mareel, sysha, and "mando," etc... I like marching to my own beat. I started recently, after being put on my ass for the past few months from an injury, to make my own set. I am starting with a good blaster pistol/rifle set that will be unique to the character I am building.

Unfortunately, I have way too many ideas and am new to making props... I do have experiencing creating and the old model making memories from the past. I am looking to use the classifieds, see, listen, and learn how to make what I want and accept critiques... even if it sucks (which sucks for me, but keeps me honest).

Hey everyone, I'm new here. New to making replicas too. Have been an amateur woodworking for over a decade. I have always had a thing for props, I just love holding something from a movie in my hands. It's just a great way to even attempt to immerse yourself into that world.

I've done a few things mainly for a Halloween costume here and there. A Dennis Nedry with an East Dock sign. Not my best work but I was able to knock it out in a few hours so it was good enough for the party. That kind of stuff. Of course like so many my holy grail is the cryocan. One of these days it will be mine.

I've recently been considering a career change due to some unforeseen circumstances and currently have the loving support of my wife and girlfriend to be able to devote more time to me and things I enjoy. Enter dipping a toe into prop making.

I mentioned I am a woodworker, I also do so many other things, I'm pretty good with photoshop, I have this annoying habit caused by my ADHD where I get so obsessive over one thing that I forget to do the normal things. And a few other weird quirks that combined I think they might lend themselves well to attempting to make some props.

So that's me. I'm looking forward to at least dipping my toe into the water, and hanging out will yall here.

Hi everyone, I'm not the best at introductions but I am a fan of props and such.

I'm a very amateur 3d modeler (as in only started a few weeks back), but I love seeing the craftsmanship of all these objects from classics.

New to prop building and something I have wanted to do for some time now. I am a Star Wars fan and am working on some blasters now. I do like replica props, but want to let my imagination tweak some existing blasters from the movies, etc... Right now I have a few in the works and hope to post pics soon.

Hey guys,
New to prop making and am really excited to find it. I am trying to get over the nerves of doing it. I'm starting to do it all by myself. None of my friends are really interested, but it because they are a bit skeptical of what can be made by someone who isn't "PRO". Lol Soon enough I'll show them up.
I'm join this group because I know this is the place I need to be to find support and friends with in this community. Can't wait to get to know you guys.

Same here brother. I have one buddy that has approved Boba Fett, and he's actually been a good source for me to bounce ideas off of.

Thats nice you can do that. I've just been watching youtube videos from Punished Props, Smuggles Room, KaumiCosplay, and I like to make things. What kind of things are you hoping of making?

I am putting a mando kit together. I have been working on blasters. Watching some of the tutorials and using my own ideas. I will post some pics. There is one out of about 5 I am working on that is a 3D kit and I am not too impressed. I have discovered that buying parts and kits you have to be super careful not to get ripped off.

I added the denix mauser with the metal airsoft on the bottom. the 3 barrel thing is a full size plastic mauser... it is far from finished, but getting closer.

Those look sick. The paint jobs look really good. That is one thing I am putting off to do. I've done some very simple paint jobs. How did the sanding of the models go? Do you feel like you got everything?

Hello everyone. I came across this site after months of searching for an addition to my Marvel collection. Glad I found this site! Denver, CO here and a huge Marvel fan.

Hi all, my name's Don and I'm loving this community; the advice, banter, sharing and feedback. Used to design for amateur theatre, build sets and props, and stage manage way back when I was a student and real happy to come across this forum to get back into making. First prop nearing completion and have learned loads during this build. Will share when I've finished, and I hope you like it, mistakes and all.

Good day and good night everyone)
I am Anastasia living in Saint Petersburg Russia. I stream and draw. Also take interviews with russian cosplayers and visit local cons.

Last year I made a Female Bladerunner Cosplay as Phoebe Deckard. Had to sew a Shirt, made a model and printed a badge, cards. Couldnt design the Coat and had to buy it from Magnoli Clothies (based in New Zealand). Also bought an amazing gun.

Anyway I plan to cosplay Douglas Quaid female version next year. Wish me luck)

My video of making bladerunner and russian cons can be found at my channel: youtube.com/msFiBi

Thank you!

Hello everybody!

I'm a maker from the UK. I've been building unconventional things for years, since childhood actually, not all of them prop/replica related.

I have a Youtube channel (youtube/andysmachines) and several people have suggested I post on this forum about my Terminator build I'm currently documenting (I'll start a separate thread for this in the proper category). Robots and machines (both sci-fi and real life) are my main passion. I love films from the 80's (when I grew up) Terminator, Robocop, Back to the Future, Aliens, Bladerunner, Predator, Ghostbusters etc. I'm also interested in scale RC modelling, particularly trucks and heavy construction equipment.

If I had unlimited resources I would love to build ED209 from robocop. Sadly I have neither the money, time or space for that. Space being one of the main considerations, I have a fairly well equipped but small garage workshop, so most of my projects are smallish and I tend to build things from scratch using scrap or commonly available items.

Thanks for having me!

Andy

Wow. I would not have the patience for that Terminator skull. Excellent work.

Hi, I just registered after visiting the forum on and off the last of couple years. My daughter (6y old) wants a Ghostbusters costume for Halloween, so I will make some props to go with it. Just started today with the PKE meter.

Greets from Belgium.

Hi!

I got into woodworking a while ago, and I've been a die-hard Harry Potter fan since it's creation. Getting more into cosplay, I'm finding that I enjoy making it more than wearing it.

I've been off and on working on props since I was a teenager. My first good prop was a Phaser 2 from TOS. I wore in when I went as Captn Kirk for halloween. Here's a photo from 1978 of it hanging on my wall. I really wish I still had it.

Hey Guys,

My names Ad and I'm part of a new company of prop and model makers called Waypoint MFX. We're a new company of makers based in the UK close to london. That are trying to push ourself and bring digital projects from pop culture to life. Each member of my team has worked in film and tv and we are now trying to make something for ourselfs! We hope to post lots of our builds from concept to creation and become a part of the maker community!

Below is a link to our instagram which has been our main portfolio to start with.

Thank,
Ad

Hi all

I’m just a tinkerer. I do a bit of wood working. I’ve sewed a very small bit. Wife is into cosplay so we’ve done light costume work.

Really I love coming here and seeing everyone’s passion and creativity. I love seeing things made and it inspires me to do more
