I've been aware of the RPF and a casual browser for as long as I can remember, but finally got around to "officially" signing up and wanted to introduce myself. I've been a member of the 501st and Rebel Legions since '06 and am very active in the charity work and costume making for both groups. Up until recently I mostly made costumes and props for myself and my wife (also a Legion member) as well as our kids but over the last year our local Garrison had about 20 new members sign up and more then half of them needed help making their first costumes.

I have a great workshop area and all the tools you need, as well as 17 Star Wars costumes and a few other genre ones so I always open up my house for armor parties and for new guys to come look at and learn about the costumes they are considering. As such I've spent most of my free time the last year helping these guys, but it also entailed a ton of research to get up to speed on some of the new gear and things I didn't have experience in. Besides the various 501st Detachments I relied heavily on this forum as well, because there are so many great and talented members here.

I guess that's all for now, like I said I've been lurking forever but wanted to finally chime in and say thanks for having me!!

Hey all. I'm mostly a western aficionado, but also love sci-fi. Want to make some resin grips for my sixgun and there's great info on here. Also enjoying all the props folks re-create!

Thank you for accepting me into your hobby. I am new to all of this and am excited to learn more about EVA prop building and 3D printing of props. This looks like the best place for me to start.

Hello all,
I joined a bit ago, have been looking at peoples work on here for years and it is very inspiring to see the things people do and decided it was time I finally joined myself.

Dint know why just haven't posted till now, anyways I really love costumes and props its only recently that I have decided to put more effort into making some of my own. I have built miniatures for some years now and really enjoy that but I have always had a passion for movie props I love them, they are a huge part of what makes movies so awesome.

Anyways just wanted to say hell to everyone and ask a quick question, where do I post original prop and costume projects I am working on? I like to create my own original props not just replicas from moves and tv though I think that is awesome as well, so I was just wondering where it was that post projects like that?

thanks everyone for such a great community of people, your all awesome :)

Hello everyone, I have just joined and based over in the UK. I am currently looking at putting together a Captain America AoU uniform for an event in June. My last build was Ghostbusters 1 uniform with proton pack, trap etc.

Good morning, all! My wife and I make Disney character costumes out of athletic fabric for RunDisney races. I have recently gone down the rabbit hole of Star Wars costuming as well, and my Tusken Raider is almost done along with a half-constructed ANH Stormtrooper and an in-planning Kylo Ren.

Already learning a ton from everybody here! Can't wait to get more involved.

Hey,

Just signed up on here after being a member of the Ghostbusters community since 2014. Known as Venkman's Swagger on GBFans and UKGB. I am currently working on a GB Hero proton pack after completing a GB2 Semi Hero build in late 2014, early 2015. I have also put together both uniforms from GB2. As well as Ghostbusters I have a big love for Predator and can't wait to have a scan around here and see some of the awesome props you guys have built. Apart from that I'm a normal (ish) 31 year old from Manchester, UK. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Thanks,

Swagger

Howdy,

Been looking around the forum for a while. Always been interested in prop replicas but until a few days ago never tried to do anything myself.

I'm a huge fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, and Fallout.

Hello all,
I've lurked on these forums as an unregistered member but now I finally joined up, since it will probably be more beneficial for me to have an account to ask questions and get feedback on my own work.
I'm mostly a visual artist; I draw things, tinker here and there, but I've been working on making costumes over the last year and a half. My current projects are at a standstill though until I learn what I need to do next.

Hi everyone,

Longtime member of the Rebel Legion (since 2008), more recently the 501st (2014). With help from The Jedi Assembly, I made and trooped in my first costume in 2007, but you know that "once you start down the costuming path, forever will it dominate your destiny." ;) So now I have:

Jedi
Clone Wars Jedi
Twi'lek Jedi
X-Wing pilot
Snowspeeder pilot
TIE pilot
TIE "Reserve" (uniform only; no helmet, armor, chestbox)

I am currently researching and working on the new X-wing pilot from The Force Awakens. :)

(P.S. I also am a big fan of all things Tolkien and Star Trek!)

Hey,
I've continually found my way here on different occasions, so I figured it was about time sign up. I haven't really done any prop making although I've been interested in it for a while now. I do have some years experience with molding and casting so I'm not going in completely blind.

Hello everyone,

I'm cyehra, a costume and prop-making girl from germany. I started in 2014 with building armors & props. My first costume was a Crusader from Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls made of thermoplastics. Since then i craftet a lot of whole sets and i changed to foamsmithing one year ago. In my personal opinion the outcome looks way better. it is much more comfortable and somehow more interesting, because you need more accuracy in your craftings skills. Learn new techniques and expand my knowledge is something very important and fun for me. I follow this forum for a long while, but never registered myself here. I was simply scared, because i saw a lot of amazing stuff and well.

I work on a female iron man suit at the moment. My latest project was a armored Batgirl version. But now some pictures.

This was my first one. My beloved crusader.

Hi Guys

I came across this site whilst looking for Dark Knight armour templates. Have found some very impressive designs. Have just attended my first convention last weekend and hoping to attend more, would like to create my own Dark Knight costume at some point to attend a convention

Hello, I'm Adam and joined this forum at the recommendation of a friend who's pretty active in this world. I'm looking forward to working on projects with my 2 sons.

Hello,
Found this forum through a good old fashioned Google search. Hoping to check out some of the work that people have done and possibly get some help with finding some items for myself :)

Hi I am new to this but find it very very interesting I have made a Stormtrooper helmet out of card but now I want to try the foam method I have already down loaded the form files for the iron man Mk vi of this site but the cod piece would not down load and there is no helmet in the files hope someone can help with these files. :devil satan

Hello.
I am Brandon its very nice to meet you all, i'm enjoying the forum so far.
I am British and have recently started getting into costume and prop making my first costume is very lacking in creativity unfortunately as i cant afford at the moment to buy any supplies for my crafting needs... :( But hopefully very soon with a little bit of luck i will have a job and will be able to start my long crafting adventure

In the future I plan on making:

Costumes:
No face cosplay
X-01 power armour
Assassins creed costume
Greaser batman or Viking batman
And Harley quinn for my amazing girlfriend

Props:
Cane sword
Harleys gun or hammer
Batman Gauntlets
Batarangs/ Batarang viking sword
Katana
Pip-Boy
Storm trooper mask for younger brother and Darth vader for my dad.
for my star wars piece I am thinking something along the lines of Sabre or first order helmet
and also a few other pieces if I can

so that's my plans and hopefully i will make progress with at least one of them... at least one...
See everyone soon

Hello there!

I'm Matheus (You can call me Mat if you want) and I came across the rpf via some prop makers on YouTube. I've been watching and reading on prop making for a while now but I've never tried my hand at it until the beginning of the year when I started working on making replicas for a archaeology Lab I'm working on (Maybe when I'm done I'll post them here). So inspired from my work at the Lab I began to replicate Mal's pistol from Firefly since it's almost impossible to get a replica here in Brazil.
I guess thats it for how I ended up here.

Matheus.

P.s.: Sorry for my ****ty english.
