Hi from Spain.
Found this forum looking for something else, what happened to another forum I followed, a coincidence.
Very interesting stuff here. I´ve made a living on sculpture and prop making since the last 20 years, looks like a nice place for someone who loves this craft.
Glad to be here.

Hello peeps.

Been lurking for a while so I thought I'd join in. Found this place while googling all things Dude.

I'm currently living in N Ireland, 5 kids who are finally old enough not to cost me every second of my 'spare' time! So I decided it was worth lending my perfectionist tendancies to pretending to be other people.

Currently obsessing over The Big Lebowski, previous obsessions include Repo! the Genetic Opera, Red Dwarf, most sci-fi programmes.

Looking forward to diving in!

Hello, everyone!
May name is Valencia and as you can see, I've recently joined here at The RPF and I can't wait to get situated.
I've surfed through the site for a very long time now so I figured I would just finally buckle in and make an account.

I am 23-years old and I live in North Carolina in the US! I would love getting into making my own things seeing as I give out advice and tutorials to people all the time...It'd be nice to make my own things and possibly even sell some stuff online!

I'm very excited to be here, I love being apart of cosplay-type communities! :D

Hello all,

I am a new prop maker but been working 3D prints and making different molds to make well...props. Slowly getting my shop together so nothing to show yet. Hopefully more to come soon!!

Hi all
General fan of all sci-fi, mainly Star Wars OT. currently working on Slave 1. Scalemodelmedic from youtube got me off my butt when he started the falcon build so here I am. Also jsut found some primo pics of the prop at http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=53940

So its a 20nzd Revel kit pretty basic only just fits 2 AAA for lights/thrusters, also snap together. I have lightly assembled at the moment so I can plan the thruster lights. Once thats done make afew adjustments to the model to make it a little closer to the prop. Cast some clear resin for thrusters (or if anyone has a better idea), then repaint as close as I can to the original prop.

Also keen on making a ANH Graflex one day.

Prop ON!

Hi everyone I’m Carol form Clermont.
Found these message boards when researching stormtrooper armor. I’m Big into runDisney, StarWars, Disney, Science Fiction and Monty Python among other things.
I really want to see about putting together a stormtrooper outfit to do the runDisney Star Wars Dark Side in. Just not into the too toos and sparkly skirts that most of the runners wear.

G'day eh, and greetings from the Great White North!

I'm Jamie, I'm a 27 year old dude from British Columbia, Canada. I'm a fan of all sorts of things from movies to video games to comic books. Currently, I'm looking to expand my knowledge in costume making, with specific interest in working with Lycra bodysuits (I want to make a Symbiote Deadpool costume and a Carnage or Venom costume) as well as foam armor (I want to build a Hunter costume from Destiny). I've done a very small amount of work with EVA foam, but don't have anything to show for it yet. Hopefully I can get something specific started this spring!

Hi gang!

My Star Wars mania and increasing love of cosplay brought me here. After the success of my female Mad max costume, I'm shifting back to my primary geeokdom, and am slowly getting into building my own fullsize droids, and putting some guts in my Kanan Jarrus lightsaber hilt. I've got other sites and other forums for all that, but I'm here for everything else.

The more I can look like a space pirate / smuggler, not just at conventions but in every day life as far as I can manage, the happier I'll be.

I pretty much grew up on sci-fi and fantasy of all kinds, and from everything I've heard, I'm pretty sure I will love it here.

Cheers! :)

Hello fellow cosplayers and people interested in it!

Since I was a young child, I've always loved to play dress-up, although not always in the most conventional ways. A couple years ago I began to cosplay, and discovered--as I suspect most people who manage to finish their first project do-- that I loved this hobby and wanted to keep doing it.

I found this site while doing research for a Marty McFly costume, and the more I looked around, the more I thought this seemed like an extremely practical forum to be a part of, so here I am. :)

Hello people, ive been looking on the RPF for a while now but have never ot round to joining, im a big fan of star wars, doctor who, harry potter, the hobbit/ lord of the rings, indiana jones, and star trek and make props from all of these films/ tv series.

The Props Person

Howdy,

My name is Venger (that's a hard 'g' sound, NOT pronounced [Ven'jer], there are specific reasons for this particular pronunciation; if you are curious inquire directly) and I'm just another freelance bloke who likes to make stuff. Incidentally I also like the MMORPG Runescape, by Jagex. Considering the smaller scale this game sees in the prop and cosplay world, and given my long standing love of the game, I strive to make things from this medium. I don't strictly hold myself to making Runescape props exclusively, but it's what I'd like to be known by.

I have been following Bill Doran of Punished Props of late, and, inspired by his New Year's Challenges that he made, took on a few of my own. One such challenge was to make a Runescape prop each month, posting about it publicly, both to share my work and keep me inspired and motivated. Admittedly we are still fresh into the year of 2016, so legitimate reason for this ambition to fall on its face exists, but so far it's gone well. I have a blog over on Tumblr where I ramble on about where I am in a build as each week goes by, as well as providing WIP pics. I've never really been proactive on the latest social software, so I'm unsure where to congregate completed pics, but for the moment they reside on my Tumblr as well.

I joined RPF because every prop maker I know, (Volpin, Sorenzo, Tested, and Punished Props to name but a few) all recommend and boast of the RPF. Considering this forum would seem to align with my natural desire to craft and build and share it with those like-minded, it seemed just as natural to join in on the band wagon. I'm no stranger to tinkering and keeping my hands busy, but to mingle with those of the same talent is a little nerve-wracking for me. Pardon me if I get a little verbose or stoic in my writing; it's a normal response to nervousness with me. :)

If it doesn't obtusely offend those assembled, Imma go lurk a bit in the Halo section. Contrary to my Runescape origins in prop making, I want to build a full suit of MJOLNIR amour oh so much. Thanks for letting me squeeze on in here. I look forward in great anticipation to hanging out here.

Hi all!
I've been lurking for a week or three since I bought a bandai Millenium Falcon, and found a goldmine of information from some seriously skilled and experienced modellers.
My two kids leave me little spare time, but what I do get I usually fill with photography, and building stuff - mostly for the kids, house or garden. I'm hoping to get some tips, and also help to contribute something along the way where I can. Looking forward to it!

Hi :-D
I'm Carlo from Italy, i'm 43 years old, and i did props, makeup and more from when i was a 15 years old.
I was born like director, but when i need to do some vfx, i must needed to learned to myself all.. after classic tool like latex, foam latex and more i started to use computer, 3d software, and today i'm a 3d artist (but also a director :pP), recently i started to experiment with 3d print fdm with a makerbot clone and i play a bit around many project.

I'm relatively new at cosplay/building. Really got into it because of my son , Mason Bartlett who operates Immortal Props. Really blessed to be around some very talented builders right here in the Kansas city community. See Calen Hoffman, Steven K Smith, Mason Bartlett to name a few.
I guess I'm an example of someone finding a truly wonderful hobby a little later in life. I really enjoy creating . I intend to do a few more replica pieces but eventually I'm going rogue..going to create originals because that's what pushes us ahead.

Hello! I am a member of The Rebel Legion and mostly a Han Solo/Indiana Jones costumer. Biggest quest: determining what was actually used for making Han's Hoth Scanner.

Hey Team,

I am a UK born, NZ based jack of all trades, master of none, I have a varied background with everything from Coffee roasting and VFX work to high altitude guiding and constructing a gold mining robot, my prop collection/making follows no particular pattern but I have had some excellent mentors including a few Weta Alumni.

looking forward to talking with you all and sharing my projects and helping out where I can.
