Hi, everyone. I'm Ricardo, a proud Texan out here in SoCal. I won first place in a Halloween costume contest back in 1979. My late uncle built a full size R2-D2 that was placed over me and that I pushed along as I walked inside. I was only five years old at the time. I'll never forget it. So I grew up loving Star Wars, but my all-time favorite is the one and only Darth Vader. Sorry, R2. Anyway, a buddy of mine, RCMUSTANG told me about this site and now I'm a registered member. This is one hell of a forum. I'm sure I'll have fun looking through your posts and posting some of my own. Thanks for having me here.

Hello My name is Haskell, but you can call me DevilBlades.
I am new to making props and costumes, I am particularly interested in Pepakura prop building. I am currently working on making a White Power Ranger helmet and a Daedric Armor set including a Daedric War Axe and Daedric Sword. I look forward to post up my props and costumes and viewing others.

hi all,
my name bill, maxaddict on here, and a lot of other places, for my love of 3d programs specifically 3d studio max. i have bin a long time lurker, and never a poster and i apologize for that.
i have learned a lot here but have never contributed till now.
i have worked low budget indie, or one-offs and customs for years. doing 2d, 3d, practical, prop, and make-up. i have done 3d output to practical before pepakura and 3d printing, running exploded models out Photoshop files (boy that was a pain).
and i think its time to try and give back to this wonderful and very helpful communty of prop builders, and i thank you for having me.

Hi there everyone!

I figured I'd sign up here since I've read threads here enough times to warrant signing up. I'm just getting into prop building and I'm hoping to be able to use the many resources here to assist me in getting better and better at it. I've not made anything yet, but I've finally got access to a workshop and started planning a couple of props from "Up" to make before the end of the year. I'm a welder by trade, so I thoroughly enjoy building things, this just lets me do some stuff that I like on my free time.

Hello! I've been browsing the RPF for about a year, finally started a build I felt was worth sharing. My "workshop" is wherever I can find some space to do things, usually a garage or my desk, but I make it work!

A few of the things I've made so far:

Arc Reactor (Not accurate at all, but my rationalization is I built it in a man cave with a box of scraps):

WIP: Payday 2 Dallas mask (Pep file by dung0beetle on the 405th):

And a few props to go along with the mask:

I'm new here. I came for the Jumanji board replica, but I was late. I am still trying to get one.

I collect prop replicas from "The Lost Room" mini-series. I'm on a fan website and they have pictures of all the 100 "objects"
mentioned in the series. Even though only a few are shown during the show, the website has behind the scenes pictures and info
about all 100 objects. I like other Movies like Raiders of the lost ark and Goonies.

Hi everyone!
I decided to sign up after constantly seeing thing's that I'd love to be able to make a prop of and not knowing how.
So helpfully I'll be able to find some good prop making advice and tips around here because I'm looking forward to try making some things.

Allo Everyone. Tony Singh here...(Mostly as Im Cheap in just about everything xp) Im very happy to be a part of this communtity and its massive dedication to the art of Prop making. It really helps to see and have access to those who post their works and ideas to hlep others be a part of it.
My background is nothing more that a Cosplay who's gotten more and more passionate and have been using the papkura programming for my props or to just understand the making of works in progress. Ill be happy to post up any of my own experiences to help others as well. Again thank you for being here and hopefully Ill give as much as I have gotten from you guys.

Hello everyone,

I've always had a love for movies and an interest in the props in them, LoTR being my holy grail. However I've never had the money to invest in replicas in terms of purchasing and always figured i didn't have the skill or money to build them. That attitude has now changed. I love to make things and I figured why not put that towards something I'm passionate about!

For someone looking to begin in the replica world, I've been scouring the internet looking for techniques and materials to being with. Well being the Mythbusters fan that I am, I recently discovered the website Tested and have been binge watching their videos for a little while now, especially videos with Adam Savage, Frank Ippolito, and Harrison Krix, and all of them swear by RPF so I figured if the pros do it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to become apart of it too. On a side note; just today I discovered Fon Davis and cannot wait to investigate what he has to say.

I don't have any finished projects however to get my feet wet I'm going to be making a desktop display of Leonides' helm for my brother, so I'm gathering screen shots for that, but to start in the materials area I'm going to make a case for my Ipod.

Thanks everyone, cant wait to see what I'll learn from you all and what the future holds!

Hello all you RPF prop people! My name is Andy and I am in Surrey, U.K. I am an avid film fan with a particular interest in Sci-fi, Superhero, Fantasy, Historical, Vampire and related subjects/genres. I am a huge Star Wars fan and a collector of vintage Star Wars action figures and other items. I have recently become increasingly interested in props, prop replicas and unusual and interesting film related items with the intention of buying and hopefully making/building some. I have joined the RPF so I can learn, research, discuss and see what others are up to and generally get involved. This site appears to be a great resource and community and I can't wait to explore it. All the best, Robstyley

Hi guys!
My name is Sebastein, from Pittsburgh PA. I am a prop maker and costume maker. I am about to graduate from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh's Entertainment Design program in March. I have been making props for a little over a year now and have gotten largely into cosplay. I hope I can show off some good props, costumes and tutorials as much as I can.

Welcome aboard. They call it Entertainment Design now? It used to be IDT (industrial design technology) when i was there. I'm glad to see they didn't get rid of it to give all the cash to animation.

Hello everyone,

just to introduce myself, I'm from Italy, I'm a huge Starwars fan and I'm in the process of starting a stormtrooper project (assembling a kit I received as a gift), and a X-Wing Pilot prop costume and I own also some props like the beautiful EFX Ep.IV Luke Skywalker W-Wing Pilot Helmet, the MR Stormtrooper Helmet and some of the MR lightsabers and Force FX Hasbro ones. Eager to join some discussions on the forum. Hope not to bother anyone as a Newby with stupid questions.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Steve and I am new here and new to Cosplay in general as well as learning how to build my own stuff. I have commissioned a few things to get me started but I am working on learning all I can to get rolling on my own.

Hello,
My name is Rebecca and I live out in Texas. I do a lot of crafting of all different sorts, but I'm really desperate to learn more stuff. I currently can make chainmail, paint, draw, and sew, though not really well as far as sewing goes. I'm looking into learning casting, leatherworking, and how to work with mdf board, as well as normal woodworking. I'm so glad that I found this forum, and I'm really looking forward to being apart of this community

Hello All on RPF !

I'm Pat from Maryland. I stumbled upon this site while researching how to build a proton pack for a party. I am an artist who excels in acrylic, pencil and pen & ink but would like to put my talents to larger 3 dimensional projects. I completed my Proton Pack with help from gbfans and it really introduced me to another world. After finding RPF, I kept coming back just to see some of the unbelievable projects people are working on around the globe. The talent harnessed here is amazing and has inspired me to take on some new projects.

I'm in the process of finishing a movie themed basement / theater room. The Ghostbusters uniform and pack are on display as you can see here.

My next project is a wall mural / 3D build of Bumble Bee from Transformers. I am painting the background now and will have the upper half of Bumble Bee built from foam and outfitted with LED lights as it protrudes from the wall.

I may try a progress post but not exactly sure where to put it since it's an odd category....

Hello all!

I'm just a young nerdy girl who loves star wars ^_^

I've got a collection of star wars costumes and working on some more!

Here's a list:
Slave Leia
Khaleen Hentz
ANH Classic Leia
Ceremonial Leia
Ewok Village Leia
Ilum Snow Bunny Padme
Arica
Juno Eclipse
Bespin Escape Leia

I made a thread here somewhere here explaining the details of my costumes :)

It is great to be here on therpf to get to know more costumers and prop builders :)

Howdy folks! I'm new but not new. I have been following RPF for several years and enjoy seeing all the great stuff being made by all you artistic folks out there. I am a very very casual prop/costume maker, to the tune of almost never finishing props I start. I have a Farnsworth that I started and never finished, I have two handmade lighsaber hilts that I did finish and use for costuming. I am now working on a Freddy Krueger outfit and have all but the finished sweater and the glove hand. (I'm going for the unburned look)
I am a hobby film actor/maker as well and have done the 48 Hour Film Project for 3 years now and I usually do the makeup for that too. I can't wait to show y'all my pics of the Freddy outfit when it's done and then start work on something new. (I want to do a Rhino suit).
Well that's me in a quick bite. See y'all in the funny pages.
