Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi foks.

My name is giovanni Casarini and I'm from the Netherlands.
i'm 19 (almost 20) years old and since 2012 I'm pretty much into costumes and cosplay.
My first project witch I'm currently working on is a Fallout New Vegas NCR veteran ranger.
I'm as good as done with my paper model of the mask/ helmet and about to aplay polyester resin on it to harden it. and I'm also planning to build some electronics in the mask as well.

Other projects I have for the near future are:
Loki (from the avengers movie (museum scene))
UNSC Helljumper (Halo)
Dunedain ranger (lord of the rings)

If anyone has any questions, shoot

Cheers.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Everyone,

I am absolutely shocked at what people have done here. Very inspirational!

I live in Washington State, USA and work for Microsoft as an SDE III. I also own a small cnc plasma cutting business.

I currently have a large 4x8 router table with a 4th axis rotary and I am dying to start cutting out an iron man statue for my theater room. I am an engineer not an artist, but hopefully I will learn more hands on skills from slobbering over RPF threads.

cheers!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello RFP,

My name is Daniel, and have always been interested in movie props and how people actually make them in there garages, it just blows me away. Some of the stuff the RFP members are producing is simply amazing and the step by step proseses are very interesting. Hope to get some nice stuff made in the future with all the knowledge this site has to offer.

Thanks,

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone!

I've lurked around on here for a quite a while, so I've finally joined up online here!

I'm Mark, (obvious from my Username, I hope...?) from that rather wet collection of islands called the UK!

I'm making up an Iron Man Mk IV now, in the past I've designed a 'Dark Knight/Rises' Suit, Cape, Gauntlets, Gloves & Boots.
I used a 'Rubies' Cowl and Belt.

So, my Iron Man is being made out of Card/board & Foam, I'll be resin-ing and fibreglassing it, filling it, etc. then a smashing paint job.

I'm getting my mannequin soon, too.

Anyways, that's just about it!

I'm obviously going to learn a boatload from some of the amazing 'craftsmen' on here!

Cheers,

Mark.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone,

as you can see I'm new here, I collect about 1/5 years movie props, have a little good collection including expensive limited good pieces, in the next days or weeks when I have more time I will make photos.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey. Im new, just found the site today. I'm not looking to buy anything right now, just admiring the awesome job people do. However I joined because in the future, I may buy something when I have more money.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Just saying a quick hello.
My name is Brenden.
I'm an independent film maker/producer/actor in SLC, UT.
I'm moving to Los Angeles in January.

I love expanding my knowledge and knowing just a little bit of something about mostly everything.

I make model airplanes. I've made a couple of prop guns and weapons for movies in the past.

I found this site thanks to Adam Savage (Mythbusters) and as soon as I have the time I hope to learn from and contribute as much as possible. : )

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I've been lurking for a little while as well, really impressed with the enthusiasm and support a lot of people here seem to exhibit, not to mention the impressive builds. Gives me something to aspire toward.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello RPF,

I am Keith and I am from Pennsylvania, USA. I am a Project Manager for a production company and I also do some work for theatrical stage productions. I have dabbled in prop making and love looking at ideas people have to solve problems with props that you can not just go to the store and pick up off the shelf. I am looking forward to seeing what people create and how problems are solved and to lend a hand if I can.

Cheers!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I'm Jamie, I'm a theatrical technical director and scenic designer. I've done some serious prop work for the stage, mostly in low-budget summer stock venues, so I've learned to work with weird materials and without access to some higher-end gear.

After grad school, I'm freelancing in Las Vegas and working on replicas when time and budget allow. Really appreciate the community here and all the information on the RPF.

Been creeping on the site for a couple of months now. Did an Iron Man Mk IV for Halloween, from all the stuff I've learned from JFcustom, Stealth, robo, darkside and all the other awesome guys doing IM suits and giving out great advice and tips. Pretty good community, thought I'd finally introduce myself.

I'm a nurse from Pittsburgh area. Pretty new to the costuming stuff although I've done some small stuff here and there over the years and always enjoyed it.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there, I've been lurking this site for a while now, I decided I'm going to make a mark VI Ironman armor suit out of fiberglass and I thought joining this site would be very helpful. will do anything I can to help others and I hope to get some tips as well.

-Phoenix out.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Scott Hall here,

Been hearing about the RPF for ages from various sources and then most recently through Adam Savage's many youtube videos and finally decided to come by and have a look around.

I mostly make custom action figures (GeekVariety Customs) but recently decided I wanted to try my hand at something a bit larger like custom guns from Ghost In The Shell (among other future projects I have planned) and thought it might be time to finally dive in and see what you guys have to offer.

Its my understanding that there are a ton of incredibly talented people here with an endless knowledge of making things, so I'm pretty excited to have a look around and hopefully learn a thing or two along the way.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone. My name is Peer and I am from Germany. (so please excuse if my english is not perfect) I am really new in foam building. My first attempt was a Thor-Helmet that I designed for carnval in february. I will surely post some pictures about how I made it. It was really fun. Therefore I am sure, that some more projects are to come.
I found this site and it was really helpful and very inspiring.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I've always loved making my own replicas, be it exact or just for fun for my kids or decoration. I never sell just make for myself or for a gift for friends or family. (not really that exact anyway) I'm always looking for inspiration and ideas as well as new techniques that I may not have used before. Looking forward to getting some new ideas
Brendan
