Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, I've been a Lurker on this site for over a year now, I didn't want to jump on and until I had something worth sharing. I'm also on Brotherhoodofthebat.com and I've dispayed my comic style Bat costume that I collected/constructed.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, I've been looking at this site for months now, and today I finally joined it! The main reason I came here was to show some of my future works that I hope can be in fan films that my brothers and I had planned for. So hopefully in the near future some of my works will maybe appear here!

Hello All

My name is David from the UK, just started with Ironman - want to get it cracked off as quickly as possible, because I want to do a C3PO, and a 1:1 T800 Terminator, a Predator and Xenomorph, then a Master Chief - Good thing is I have a lot of spare time now :)

Started Pepping Sharkman Ironman Helmet using 160 GSM card - All cut out and 40% assembled and bought some 240GSM Card - OMG what a difference the thicker card has made - so much easier. So I will finish card helmet, but then will roll straight away with a foam helmet. I dont want standing time whilst coats are curing so figure if I run two projects simultaneously I can reduce down time.

Downloaded Paper 1:1 T800 Worked out a few work arounds for hands and feet - intend to use Card, Resin, Wood, Steel, Epoxy

So its good to have a program - my wife is itching to get involved, so she will be foam building armour - Ironman

Have worked with tools most of my life - got quite a tool kit, I don't believe in work for works sake - so if I can find a good work around like BoochieBoys Ironman "ears" I'll do it

Amazing forum with some amazing skills, I have downloaded a lot of material & PEP files and I would like to say thankyou for sharing! Hope I can bring something to the mix :)

Got my timber today for my Vac forming table - and Henry vac - Poundland are doing the heaters cheap £12

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking, admiring the wealth of talent. I've put together some costumes for my kids in the past, nothing as elaborate as some I have seen so this website will definitely step up my game!

So with Halloween 2012 behinds us and the storms that followed, my kids and I are planning our 2013 costumes.... And my daughter wants to be iron man.... So I'm officially signing up and looking for tips and tricks before I start the project. I won't be adhering to the movie look, I'll be going freestyle on a princess version.

My son, well he just wants to roll around like the real ironman... Woohoo

Thank you for your help in the upcoming months!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hi everyone my name is Jason Joiner i do not use forums that much as i am dyslexic so please excuse my spelling ;-)

i am a very old school collector of screen used props and costumes , bought my first screen used prop back in 1987, i have kept a lot of what i own privet up till last year when a few of my friends talked me into displaying some of it at the Elstree Star Wars Day , which turned out to be really cool, as seeing and hearing people really enjoying these items was quite amazing and after that i have started to show more of my collection publicly , i do worry about moving some of the items as they are getting fragile so its a very big thing for me to display them and move them but seeing people enjoy them is worth it.

i have joined this forum for the most part as i am looking to put together a team of skilled prop builders to help me build some life size space ships and other things as i have a project for some of the events that i run in the UK , i have just finished running "Destination Star Trek London" Star Trek London | 19th - 21st October the largest Star Trek con in the world with 18,000 fans attending and i run the London Film and Comic Con every year http://www.londonfilmandcomiccon.com and we have a lot planed for 2013 so we have a budget to create and build some pretty big life size sets , props and vehicles so i have come on here to try to meet people that i can work with to create some amazing things that most of us on our own would not be able to afford to build or be able to store , so if anyone is interested in a big project and you live in the UK lets chat , i can be contacted at jason.joiner@btinternet.com and i would really love to work with some of the very skilled people on here thanks for reading Jason

Hello All,
I've been a stalker of great information on here for a while. Just love the artist on here and love reading all the cool post. Done some pepakura and a big fan on the SST movies. Especially now the STI and would love to see some .pdo models of them. I follow Stealths youtube and wookie builders. I guess I am to shy to really say anything. That just me. Oh and I also own a comic book store and New Mexico. So always wanted cool displays for the store.

Hey guys! After months of lurking i finally just decided to register. I'm slowly getting better at this prop making business, but I keep running into walls, and after my frustration with trying to find a good air compressor to save money on primer, I figured it was time. Glad to be here, first post of many hopefully.

Hello.

Sparkycombs here. I love to make things. Many different kinds of things. I have extremely limited skills to say the least. I sort of learn and make things up as I go. I usually make things like furniture, which I then attempt to sale. I decided a while ago to start making things for my family and myself. I have started a Spiderman table for my son's room which is mostly just painting on an old table. I recently decided to make myself a Bottled City of Kandor and a Bobba Fett costume. I would appreciate assistance and advice in making the bottled city such as materials, construction, and painting. Remember I am a novice to say the least. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I also must say that I love to look at the pictures of the props that people have made. It boggles my mind how good they look. I can't wait to build my skills and abilities to make things that looks as good as some of the pictures on this site.

That's all for now, take care,
Sparky

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone... haven't JUST joined but haven't introduced myself. I'm Simon, I do charity work for the Norwich Sci-Fi Club and generally costume up and troop with them raising money for various charities. Main costumes being Doctor Who related.

I like to help people out finding costume bits and pieces and try my hardest to be as accurate as I can with what builds I do. Mostly I do alterations with spraying and painting, sonic screwdrivers, walking dead grimes guns etc.

Nice to be here... I've just put together a fully accurate Rick Grimes Season 1 costume and without this forum I'd never have got there!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings from soggy England. I like making LARP weapons and props, and fiddling with art materials. I've made a Mr Flibble and Rimmers dress, a latex mask from my face cast, (and several other bits, including cels) and would love to get round to finishing a Totoro costume :) I've also had someone ask for a British Gas "little world" replica so I've come to pick brains. I'm mainly an illustrator, so if you need something drawn, I can do the procrastinating and some doodles :p

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I have made quite a few things from aliens, all have turned out well so far (i think anyway, lol)

I would put a photo of somthing on here but i dont know how to do it yet, i dont even know if im writing this message in the right place, ha.

Anyway, happy to be a part of the community.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello!

I have been lurking for years. I may or may not have anything much to contribute as I don't much care to post pictures of my work online. I cruise around here looking for inspiration and new techniques.

While I primarily draw and sculpt these days, I am slowly getting back into kit model builds. I have dabbled in various forms of what appears to be called "papercraft", though I prefer to work in styrene and recycled materials.

My only "bragging" story of my work is that back in 1994 I successfully pulled off a live-on-stage, one man stunt featuring gallons of gore and a homemade, fully articulated "Chestburster" puppet. My reward was a week's detention and a massive cleaning bill to pay off...but I won the competition and got a spread in the yearbook.

Currently I am debating to build a Vermithrax model hacked as a laminar flow fountain. (Picture Glowing orange "flame" that splashes off of Galen's shield in bright explosive glory....).

I blame the Vermithrax builders currently posting as I was astounded to see their works in progress and the quality of the kit.
