Hi all. I have spent the last four years learning to braid bullwhips (Indiana Jones style) and a friend of mine recommended I join this forum. So here I am!

Hello Folks. Just joined. I am going to be building some sort of space suit for a music video. Doesn't have to be accurate to a real one, but I would like it to be. What it does need is look functional even if it is a fictional design. No idea where to start but after lurking here off an on for years I felt i'd join and see who might have advice or contributions.

Hello everyone!
I found this forum looking around for some templates/schematics for the Iron Man model-prime 51 armor from ANAD Marvel, tho I did not find any. I did find a lot of people crafting the other suits, and I must say that it looks amazing! I hope to find some inspiration for other projects as well, but I would possibly be found asking for help in making pepakura files/templates, since I'm not all that big on computer programs/technology overall. I'd gladly pay for templates I find useful :))
But I hope to see you guys out there!

Bonjour and Hello all. Love all the hard work and fun. Can't wait to dip into the community.

Hi all,

My name is Mike. I'm a designer and creative director in NYC. I found this site among many others years ago because of my obsession with special effects and movie props. Funny that I hadn't joined any until this past year. I've mainly done saber builds but am looking to do more so I thought this was the best place to start, right?

Anyway, glad to be here.

Hi guys my name is Andrew (Drew for short) found out about this place form a guy at work

I'm a big fan of cosplaying and I can't what to learn how to make new and improved costumes

Just joined up today. I have regularly visited this site but never joined. I have some projects planned so I thought I might go ahead and join to avail myself to more opportunities.

Cheers!

Hello from somewhere in Texas!
My fiance (known online as Kojak) are really crafty and enjoy a multitude of crafts. We've been interested in cosplay for awhile, but we both can be perfectionists so we haven't actually done anything besides a steampunk outfit for me and two for himself (though I've put together non-fandom costumes without props and have done a lot of research for several characters to cosplay). We're also planning a nerdy wedding but are on a budget, so we're going to be doing a lot of DIY for it. My fandoms include (but are not limited to) Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Hobbit/LotR, Planet of the Apes (the originals, though I don't mind the new ones; don't care for the Tim Burton one though), most Tim Burton projects (especially Beetlejuice)... I could go on and on, so I'll stop there.

Hi guys, I somehow stumbled on to this site through a post that is over five years old LOL. I'm big into star wars and Marvel stuff but my real obsession is searching for, Unsuccessfully, Props from Space Giants, Giant Robot and Ultraman.

Hello everyone,
I'm new to building my own costumes, but I am finding that i really do enjoy it. It started with me making stuff for my kid's Halloween costumes...and has now become something of a hobby for me. I'm excited to try new stuff out...so it looks like i have a lot of reading to do. My main interests right now are comic book stuff and Star Wars anything...

I will post more once i get going on a new project for the summer. :)

Hello everybody
I found this forum looking templets of pepakura and found amazing works . It is very encouraging to find so much creativity here. I would like to reciprocate by showing a little bit of what I've done . If there is anything I can help , I'll do it gladly

Hi!

I found out about this site through the Tested YouTube channel where I followed Adam Savages prop collection for several years now.
This sparked my interest in building my own props because the only one I own as of now is Lukes lightsaber from A New Hope (Master Replicas)

I'm confident that I'll find some good information on DIY props here :thumbsup

Greetings from Berlin, Germany

Hello,
I am J.Gregory. I have frequented the RPF for a couple of years now, on and off. I am.in awe of the builds I see here and figured it is time.to start working on my own project. Of course, advice and inspiration are what drives me. The RPF is the ideal site to learn and create props and costumes.

Good Day,

I have seen RPF Forums before and have heard about this from other Cosplayers, here and there at Phoenix Comic Con. So I finally got off my lazy butt and joined. Looking forward to creating and sharing with you all. Peace! :cool

Hello everyone.

I've been cosplaying for around three years now and I've been making things for far longer than that. I come from the 405th Infantry Division as my main projects have all been Halo based, but now I want to branch out a little, plus I really hate the direction that franchise is going. I have come to the RPF a few times to scroll through threads to look at peoples builds and see certain techniques.

So far I've made a foam Halo ODST suit and a Pepakura/fibreglass Halo Reach EOD Spartan, plus a couple of guns to go with them:

Right now I am working on a Dark Souls Silver Knight foam build.
Looking forward to working alongside the fine people here :)

Hi everyone.
I'm new to prop making. I have been checking out posts on the dented helmet and here and the projects that I have read about are absolutely amazing and have inspired me to give it a try. I have zero experience with 3D design software (not sure which one to use), pepakura (looks pretty cool and like the building aspect of it), vacuum forming, etc, but I am a quick learner, pretty handy with tools and wood and looking to learn the rest. My goal is to have a Star Wars themed tv room with 1:1 costumes (mostly armor based), helmets, HIC, possibly R2 and some Star Wars Galaxies (loved that game!) props and armor. Currently taking my time building an Anovos TK and enjoying the process.

Hi Folks!

I have been obsessed with film props for quite some time and I figured why not make my own? How hard can it be right? Oh god, what have I gotten myself into...

Hey guys. Been reading this forum for a long time now. Watched just about every youtube video available. Ready to try my hand at foam armour building. Feel free to throw some hints an tips my way. Look forward to talking to everyone in the near future.

Hello, I have been interested in building costumes and armor for years. I took time out to have a family. Now I share my love of things sci-fi and Star Wars with my son and some good friends. My passion became reignited when my son asked me to help him make a mash-up of Star Wars and a Disney Prince for MegaCon last year.

I am currently working on a First Order Stormtrooper Bucket. I am about to start my third pepakura model, the first two were out of proportion. This site has been a great experience and learning tool.
