Hey there everyone! Happy Sunday to all of my fellow prop and costume lovers! I'm Chris and I joined not too long ago, finally decided to start posting my own content and work after lurking for quite some time. I'm one half of a two member cosplay group with my girlfriend Tegan, and we simply go by the page name ChrisTegan Cosplay. While Tegan usually handles any of the fabric and sewing related cosplay items, I'm extremely passionate about armor and prop building. I decided not long ago to start mainly working with EVA foam and other such foam materials and so far it's worked out quite well for me.

I'm currently working on three cosplays, those being:

  1. An NCR Ranger from Fallout New Vegas which I've already posted here.
  2. The armor and cosplay of Bell Cranel from the Anime Dan Machi (Is it Wrong to Pick up Girl in a Dungeon)
  3. Recreating my Automail Arm and Leg for Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
I can't wait to post more and get to know some of you guys and gals :D

Hi, I'm Dan Efran...Man of A Thousand Hobbies. :cool

In particular, I've been fascinated by science-fiction props and special effects since A New Hope.

I've been building stuff out of other stuff since I was little, but looking back, I haven't put much of it online. Lately I've been working on some things worth posting about, so here I am. I'll be posting about some things....

Enjoy! :)

Hi Everyone!

I'm new here! I am a Gundam as well as a Star Wars fan. I enjoy building model and this is the reason why I am here! I have seen some awesome works being done in this forum and wanted to learn more about your experiences!!

Good Morning All. Brand new to the costuming community. After lurking on the forums for over a month, I finally decided to join up.

Hi everyone. I found out about this site from a person on Facebook. I do charity work as Antman and have been looking for someone to make a helmet as close to the movie version as possible. The one I have looks cool but it fits tight, has cheap plastic as the lens. Anyone who can help please let me know

Hi everyone!

I've been interested in toys and costumes since I was 10 and saw the first Star Wars and decided to make a light saber out of a golf club protector. These days I do design, software development and hardware fabrication by my hobby time has gone to Burning Man projects and design and fabrication of furniture, tools, and parts for board games, violins, and cellos.

Hello all

I was first make aware of this site by Tested.com and have occasionally checked out the site from time to time since then.

Although I have never actually built a prop or costume before, I've always loved designing things and have also been a cosplayer for several years. Recently, through watching Adam Savages One-day build videos, more and more I've found myself wanting to try my hand at actually building a prop or costume (or something). So here's me, joining the RPF and hoping I don't cause too much trouble with my questions of how to solve the many problems I will inevitably face.

(Edit)
Also, I can't seem to find much about it, so I'll just ask it here:
What are the rules (if there are any) &/or where is the thread (assuming there is one) regarding commissions?

Hey all! I've been lurking around for the better part of a year now, looking at all the cool projects and attention to detail everyone around here like to apply to their creations. Outstanding work and highly inspirational.

I dabble in projects and prop making when time and money allow. I built a 3d printer and I've made a few custom built lightsabers. I also splurged on a DeAgostini Millennium Falcon Kit (though I'm going to wait till I get it all before I start putting it together, which will be a year from this July). In the meantime I'm remodelling my House and am planning on doing most of the second story as Star Wars theme rooms. My initial plan is a Falcon Cargo Hold themed home theater and a Death Star/Throne room/Bespin Carbonite Chamber Bedroom. I've also got a half dozen other different projects floating around in my head that I'd like to give a try at some point (Droids, a trooper kit, models, etc...).

Anyway, with that being said, I'll probably be starting a preliminary build thread on my remodel project and looking for advice and/or suggestions on many different aspects of it! Thanks for having me and I look forward to learning all I can. :)

I'm Brad, I am fascinated by the molding and modeling of polymers and resin forms, using a vacuum oven and various mixing equipment, I have a variety of methods to build my first costume, meant for myself at comicon, Thor. I am 6'6", 250lbs, and have a natural blonde lion's main head of hair. To quote the words of the rpf member (and awesome model/costumer/Tenel Ka) who directed me here; "you are going to drown....."

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this sort of thing, so please excused my ignorance! I've been a fan of Star Wars since I watched the original ANH way back in '78 here in the UK.

I'm now in the process of purchasing parts to build my own Denix based ESB DL-44. I've ordered the Denix already and have received greeblies. I'd really like a metal flash hider and M19 scope. For the flash hider I'm thinking of going for the Evolution Props one, but the scope from them just doesn't look right. Can anyone please help?

Hi All! I'm new to this site but have been making costumes, props, masks, and puppets for a long time. I've been out of practice for the last few years but I'm looking to get back into. From what I've seen, this seems to be a very open and friendly community who really help each other out and have a passion for fabrication. I look forward to learning a lot and hopefully helping out others as well!

Hello

I've been lurking this site for 3 years, I had an account before just didn't care to remember it, recently joined yesterday thinking I could get some helpful advice on my costuming! I recently started attending my first con back in 2014 @C2E2 in Chicago, ever since then I had a high passion to create the things I love and bring them to life. I am a cosplayer, photographer, and artist, all in training. :thumbsup

Hopefully ready to learn the hard aches and troubles into being an artist a LOT better... "ugh".

Hi, I'm just getting into prop making though I have been a crafter and costume maker for years (mainly for school shows - I am a drama teacher too) I am a big fan of Harry Potter and have been in awe of some of the HP props I've seen on the site so far. Looking forward to sharing some of my work and getting some advice from more experienced prop makers.
I also buy HP props - my favourite purchase so far has been my Lucius Malfoy cane (hence my username!).

Hey all! I'm Reyu of Arcane Props, a replica prop maker based in the Philippines. I've been lurking around this forum for quite a while now but I only decided now to register and what not. I've been a prop maker since 2010. I also cosplay and stuff. I've got a lot to learn so I'm hoping to do so during my stay here in RPF. Cheers!

Hello mates, I met the forum through the "Knights of Ren" facebook group. I'm here mostly for Star Wars cosplaying, but that may evolve. I'm sure I'll enjoy the community here. Well, that's it. Nice to meet you.

Antonio.

Hi,
I'm Mel, I found this forum while I was searching for Hellraiser Box props. I really love seeing the amazing work of some of the folks on here! I can only dream of attempting some of the things that I have seen on here. I hope to learn a few tricks of the trade from the fine folks on here, as I am but a humble craftster who loves to make things. I look forward to checking out all the other facets of this forum!
