Indy local here. I'm kind of a horror fanatic, so my creations are more haunt and halloween based. I'm new to the spfx type stuff, Iv dabbled in pneumatics and fabrication, as well as life-casting with silicone and plaster. I'm in the process of gathering my supplies to do my first sculpting project, probably something demonic.

So far I've had a blast reading up on everyone's posts. This site is awesome!!

Hello everyone. My name is Jacob. I'm a huge Transformers, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, horror movie, 80s nostalgia fan. I work as an Art Director at an ad agency and in my spare time I do my personal artwork. One of my paintings was featured in Star Wars Insider a while back. I've been a long time lurker but just getting back into the swing of things again. I was active on TDH for a while as I was building my life-size Han Solo frozen in carbonite. Still have some finishing and painting to do on that guy along with building and painting all of the side panels and greeblies. I'll post the progress and start another build thread here as I go I'm sure. There are so many talented people here in this community! Every day I find something new that amazes me. Very happy to be here.

Hi all,

My name is Greg. I recently started piecing together various Doctor Who costumes, not for cosplay or anything but just because I can.

I currently have a quite screen accurate Captain Jack Harkness outfit mostly made up of clothing I already owned.

I am hoping to in the next few months complete my 11th Doctor series 7b outfit. After that I might see about getting an 8th Doctor 'Dark Eyes' costume assembled.

All the best to my fellow enthusiasts and I'm happy to be part of the community.

Greetings to all Prop builders of the Forum!

My name is Miguel Soares and im an old guy, with 4 boys and a love for Anime and SCI-FI movies. I never had the guts to Cosplay.. but this past September i decided to make the big jump.

Im Senior graphic artist, since 1995 in a sign business... so i have alot of access to different machines and materials.

What else could i say... oh i have a facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/mcaprops/) and a Deviantart account... and im on everyday in the FB group of this forum!

I've recently finish my first costume... was alot of "learning process" into it!

Don't be afraid, hit me back, just to chat,

Hi Everyone!

I've been lurking for a bit but I'm finally going to start interacting more. I'm a HUGE fan of A Nightmare on Elm Street and I collect the glove replicas. I have a pretty big collection which I hope to share with everyone on here in the future! I also have a bunch of screen used items as well! (see my YourProps link for those.) I can't seem to get enough Nightmare stuff!

It'll be nice to connect with others that feel the same way about the series!

Hello everyone. I've been a member for a bit. This is my first post. I have to admit, i don't fully grasp forums.bare with me.
Anyway. I first found this site years ago while researching lightsabers. I casually collect star wars, doctor who. And Star Trek.

Hi All,
I am a lifelong scifi and fantasy fan. I am 38 and live in the UK. I recently thought about getting myself a few costumes together for various events i want to attend in 2014 (comiccon and the like). What i found with a little research is that I really want to make my own rather than have someone send me a kit that has been mass produced. Ive built myself a vacuform table, and am currently mould making to see how i get on. Its certainly something i am loving doing and can see me making a serious hobby out of.
I could really do with some advice on mould making, and preferably some words of encouragement! I am not an artist, and as such have to work out ways to make things look as i want without the natural touch an artist seems to have!
I would be very happy to hear from others in the UK who are also in to this stuff!

Hey everyone
I am just getting in to costuming my favorite being Star Wars. I have already done a suit of card board mando armor and want to move to making something a bit more realistic not to mention durable. I am currently starting on another set of custom Mandalorian armor and a clone helmet using papakura and fiberglass.

Hi all

My name is Tim, I'm from New Hampshire. I've been lurking this site for a few months, just registered today. I didn't realize this site was closed off at one time, good timing i guess. I have reached a point in my life where i will not continue life with out a couple props from star wars I.E DL-44 blaster,Lightsaber,EE-3 and E-11. I have a DL-44 (Doopy Doo's resin kit) being shipped to me as we speak. this build will be my first prop ever. hope to have some picks to show in the near future. other prop interests......Hell boy Samaritan, fifth element Korben blaster,ZF-1, multipass. and so many more since i've been lurking this sight.

I hope to learn from the great wealth of knowledge on this site and also hope to make a few meager contributions

Hey y'all. I'm Kate, from northeastern Illinois. I found the site trawling the internet for a proper case for a PADD-style iPad Mini, and found this great community of folks who I can learn a whole lot from about fabbing up good kit. My personal costuming/prop interests tend more toward the historical (I'm a regular at the Bristol Renaissance Faire, as a visiting noblewoman), but I am branching out into the more modern stuff. Current projects include a Kaylee outfit, a Dr Crusher uniform (post spandex onesie), and a Steampunk can-can dancer rig. Dream project? A Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 hardsuit. Alas, I am a nurse, so my work schedule doesn't really give me the opportunity to put toward a project of that magnitude, let alone the skills to pull it off. But again, it's a dream.

Thanks for having me, I look forward to learning a whole mess of shiny skills here.

Hello there everyone, Galeregil here!

I've always had an interest in making things, and when I was young often cobbled together prop "replicas" out of cardboard and tape (and a few printed graphics). A few years on, and at the ripe old age of 16, I'm a little more advanced in my skills, and I've started putting together a few more accurate replicas. I'm particularly interested in replica items I can use day-to-day, such as Captain Picard's briefcase, but I'm also interested in putting together a few display props. I also enjoy constructing elaborate costumes for conventions, such as my recent "The Twelve Doctors" costume for the 50th Anniversary celebration convention. In addition, I enjoy constructing "props" which have a very definite in-universe feel, but may not necessarily have appeared in a show/film.
I currently have replicated/own a replica of:
The TNG "All Good Things" future badge (made out of plasticard)
A few bottles of Chateau Picard wine (using the rather excellent label from forum member Cmdr.Kerner)
4th Doctor's Scarf (knitted by a friend)
6th Doctor's coat (constantly undergoing revisions)
7th Doctor's jumper (purchased replica)
Props I'm working on:
Custom Sonic Screwdrivers (machined from metal)
Various PADDs (Plasticard)
Space Marine armour (currently in early stages of mould making for vacuum-forming)
Custom TARDIS interior and 2005 Exterior (currently on the back burner)

I'm particularly interested currently in learning to cast resin. I have a basic understanding of the process and the required materials, and I'm hoping to have a go over the Christmas break. If anyone could point me in the direction of any particularly good tutorials, I would be very grateful.

Thanks for allowing me into your halls, and I'll try not to eat the furniture.

Hi, my name is Cori, I prefer Kai though and I'm obviously new here. I've seen some posts on here a couple of times and I thought I'd finally make a profile. I've only used EVA foam to make costumes but I want to learn new skills; worbla, bondo, pepakura, resin. Here's wishful thinking for 2014 :)

Hey all,

Just here to learn more from everyone and show off some of my own work. Comments are always appreciated to better my craft and also to maybe help others as a community. I know my craft isn't as amazing as some I've seen already. But in hopes to get to that level one day. Here are some of my concepts. I hope you guys will like it. Please check out more of the pix. Always down to find new ways to improve!

Here are some of my works. Hope you guys enjoy it. 935926_10151501567751964_1179801053_n.jpg1382261_10151721248021964_256069072_n.jpg3327031.jpg3327033.jpg3082565.jpg3207540.jpg1384324_10151721248031964_1109455274_n.jpg

Hello RPFers! I'm Nathan from California. I've had a longtime love of props and prop replicas although I've never considered making my own until my obsession with the sonic screwdriver became....obsessive. And google brought me here! There is amazing talent everywhere on this site, I'm honored to be able to join the ranks.

Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster. Big fan of all the work here, you guys do excellent work!
I was a big time comic book reader (marvel) when I was a younger kiddo, and I thing the movies lately have done them well, most of the anyhow. Hoping to build a couple suits in the next couple years, I think I have to do an IM/WM and I really want to do a Space Marine from the 40k universe. That has always been in the back of my head, just never really looked into making it happen.

Hello everyone

My name's Josh and I'm, as evidenced by my pic, an avid 10th doctor cosplayer. I was referred to this site by many people seeing as i have an eye for detail. and while it could be improved, i have to brag a bit and say my eye is pretty accurate.

I like to make my props and costumes as accurately and cheaply as i can. and while i know sometimes the two don't go hand in hand, I do my best there.

some of my favorite projects are a projection filter key from "Sound of Drums" and a burnt out sonic from "Smith and Jones". pics to be added later.

Hi all, I'm a painter and mixed media artist. I made a couple of wands and wand boxes for a friend's kids who are both really into Harry Potter. Another friend, who works in film doing props and stuff, said the wands/boxes looked like they looked exactly like they could be in a movie and suggested I join this forum. I really like smallish, super detailed, projects I can work on in between finishing my current collection.
