New McFly jean jacket replica!

The owner of Headgoonie got the Teen Beat book, and apparently it's like a light blue/grey and not completely grey, I believe the new colours are right, the only way to judge is to have a jacket in hand, I believe they are distressed by hand too, so one jacket might differ from another one. But they seem to be good improvement from the previous one :)

I have a bunch of 1984 Guess Denim in the exact color and denim type used on the coat. When a picture comes out I will do a comparison.

Here is one of our newer jackets with the latest color scheme:

Kind regards,
Magnoli

That looks great. The colors are spot on. Great work. Just needs the goldish brass buttons. The blue pocket flaps could also be a little longer. And since your site alows custom measurements my profile has measurements from a Guess jacket I have that fits close to the movie. Could we see the sleeves rolled?

Without acid washing the denim you are never going to get the right look. It is still too blue. The jacket looks like its made out of sweatpants. It may be the picture clarity, but the denim looks thin. The silver buttons really have to go.

As an owner of half a dozen real Class-5 vests, I can say this vest is the best replica I have seen. The color is fantastic and the pocket shape is accurate.
The problem is $350 for a vest they make for $20 is insane.

I agree with your points. And for the price of the vest. It's either $350 or spend almost your whole adult life searching for a vest that will either be the wrong size, wrong color, too expensive, or all three. I've only seen a real class-5 vest on eBay once, but it had a tan inside and it went for around $500.

That's the older lining... just realized that I don't have photos of the new run finished, only the digital design we did. I'll post the updated lining as soon as I have some photos.

Probably around the same price of their previous jacket, which if I remember correctly was around $500/600. They are handmade jackets, therefore the price, but they are the best on the market so far, followed by Magnoli ones.

Thanks Emma. Good to get a rough price of what they normally sell for. I saw one Of Headgoonies jackets at the Hill Valley Preservation Society stall at comic con London and it looked quite good! So looking forward to seeing the newly improved colours and alterations. We have yet to see anyone get the colours exactly right. It's always just off! So hopefully it will be good. We'll see! :)

I believe they are just a handful of people working on these replicas. There are lots of props that are being sold for more than the cost of production... I'm sure it works the same way with Shah Safari.. I'd rather pay that price for a real one, but knowing how much they are going for now, to be honest I'd be quite happy to pay that price for a good replica. Just wish I had the money for it, but would buy if I could!

Yeah, know how you feel. I would be buying everything if I could, props, replicas, costumes, Delorean :D, tickets for everything. I wish I could fly out for the celebration from the UK, but sadly just too much.I really hoped there would be more going on in the UK but doesn't seem to be much. Managed to order one of the Valterra skateboards though, :cool which I'm really looking forward to receiving! Be nice to get a good replica Marty jacket, sill waiting for the right one to come along, so hopefully Headgoonie can help with that soon. Until then, I'll just keep saving. :)

I do a Spoonflower run on the lining, but some are saying it isn't terribly accurate. If there's something I can do to update it, someone please let me know. Here's a replica made by Don-Ya' Ortiz, who studied under Debbie Scott (designer from BTTF Pt. 1) coincidently. My paisley lining is in there, but there's still more we could do to it.

Has Headgoonie released any pictures of their new jacket? I can't tell if what I see in my google searches is the updated one since everything is in Japanese and google translate is very poor at translating it.

How did their last design look? I got these from their site

Not sure if this is the new one or old one. I have been following headgoonies facebook and twitter page to see updates. So far, i've seen a few sneak peaks, one being sewn, one of the screen printing the lining and a few hanging in a shop. Not really seen complete pictures of the new jacket yet, but maybe Emma can update us a little?
as I think she has been in contact with them. Is it looking more screen accurate? What about the colours? Do we know the changes that have been made from the last run they made?
