NEW Hot Toys Gort Predator

ya bensin, i hear ya. they know as soon as they throw em out here, that all us freaks ( well some will decline) but us HT pred lovers will be fight over these for years to come, it does sound kinda cruel

He doesn't ave a medical pack? HT couldn't have thrown that in? His back looks so bare without it.
He does have a Medi-Kit in the film.

I agree with Bensin as well. I've never been one for the whole "Limited Edition," or "Exclusive" pieces. I think it's because I'm just not a hugely competitive person. It looks like a cool piece, though, and I am all for anything Lost Hunter related, toy or otherwise.

The only thing(s) that really gets me about it, is that they took so many creative liberties with him. I would think that with their success that they'd have no trouble finding proper sources for reference. The armor that he wears in the screen-caps isn't that silvery color. Like most of the other hunters, it's that goldish/copper scheme. The Ram Predators armor was a heavily weathered silver, as was the Boars pieces (although, his were a bit rustier/brownish). Those are the only two Lost Hunter's I've seen that had that silvery scheme. The helmet is the right color, and thats what I liked about the movie coloration - the contrast between the silver and gold. The same for the P1 look-a-like. I think it really makes the helmet pop out, and stand alone from the rest of the gear. A couple of cool things I saw, is that they sculpted up new chest armor, and left-arm piece. Atleast they're not just re-using old parts. Although, the armor looks a bit big on that P1 body.

To me; and from what other's have said, there looks to be two different paintjobs going on with the prototype. The upper torso looks to be the spotted P1 pattern, and the lower looks like it's closer to Gorts correct coloring - which, as previously stated was a Hero-scheme. Atleast that's how it looks in the screen caps. The coloring and pattern could've very well been different. The Boar had that spot pattern, like the artists were trying to match him to Steve Wangs original paintwork.

No med-pack either? Hmmmm... well, what's weird is that the "Lost Predator" had the same attachment point for a med-pack as well. They just didn't ship him out with one. Those P1 sandled feet are kinda throwing me off as well. None of the Predators wore sandles in the film, not even the Elder. Plus, keeping with the movies theme, I thought the barefoot look kept closer to the whole tribal warrior theme.

All in all, not a bad piece. I'm more excited to see how some of the members here repaint theirs. That is if they decide to, what with it being a limited piece and all.

I don't know why anyone would bother repainting something that's already a rehash of older parts. What's more, it's an SDCC attendee exclusive for Sideshow Collectibles, so this rare figure will be even rarer. Although, I'll admit to the leg paint job looking a little strange :p. Don't quite know why they did it, but it'd be nice to see just what Gort reference they looked at to give them that idea. Still can't wait for this piece.

Bad News Fellow Freaks,

I called Sideshow today to get some more info on the Hot Toys SDCC items, I forget the name of the rep that I spoke to but, according to the most updated information from Hot Toys, the SDCC Hot Toys items will not be ready in time for the show. He said that there should be an update in the newsletter within the next week or two stating the change in the exclusive line-up and said most likely Sideshow will be selling the figures as Sideshow Exclusives rather than SDCC Exclusives, but even that is just an assumption of what might happen. However, I'm assuming Sideshow will be carrying at least the Sarah-1000 because it is their license. I kind of hope that this is both true and not true. Not true because it is unfair to the Con-Attendees who were looking forward to pre-ordering/picking up the figure(s) and true because it might be easier to obtain one seeing that the Con-Attendee and Non-Attendee numbers might be combined. Once again I could've just been told some bad scoop, but I thought I would at least pass it on to all of you fellow freaks.

Looks like we'll probably end up getting these guys as SS exclusives.

i just think the P1 happened to have his jungle shoes on, they be some nasty splinters and thorns out in them interplanetary jungles!! preds obviously have some pretty calloused feet, and the P2 hero/s wouldn't need shoes in a concrete jungle, or on a ship, i'm sure they all probably have a pair if they need em ;)

but thanks blade! kinda bummed about the sdcc ex. deals not being ready, but then i think why? them not being ready by then just says, for one, all these ******** on ebay'll have some refundin to do. hopefully those same people that bought already can still end up getting one, but this all just sounds like it'll be easier for the rest of us to try to get our hands on one, in a way. sounds good! (plus you know they got some other preds they're workin on too... that's right "totally brand new, everything!")

two, i'm so much more a fan of "take your time and do it right" then "hurry!! we only have a month left, get those figures painted!!!! *whip cracking* the original HT P2 hero body paint ups are pathetic, armor looks awesome! lotsa layers! but the bodies, i swear, i've said before HT got there paint by number charts ****** up during production.

i am almost tempted to say this is good news guys but that's just me.

The only downside I can think of is that Sideshow Exclusives (especially with such a limited edition size) tend to sell out crazy fast. So instead of some/most of us having trouble getting one, now all of us will. I just hope they enforce the one-per-customer policy... and that the PPO for these puppies (if there will be one) isn't happening while the attendees are at the con. That'd just be plain mean.

The Guardian Predator is back on the Sideshow SDCC Exclusive page! A guy on the SSF Forums called another rep today, and as it turns out, the Guardian Pred is back on schedule as planned; only the Sarah Connor figure was delayed.

At least this means we won't all be herding for these puppies. SS Exclusives are pretty intimidating if they can get sold out within 10 mins. Look on the bright side -- the attendee figures sell out pretty slowly. I don't know if the remainder go on the Wait List or what, but less people will be rushing at the same time.
If the remaining unsold attendee figs do go on the non-attendee Wait List, then I think those not going to the con might actually have slightly better luck here. Iono for sure, but at least the situation hasn't changed in the end. Any plans we've made are still in effect.

Will someone give information on the the exact date and the earliest time this Guardian Predator will be available to order from Sideshow? Preferably with a link to ensure the information is reliable! Thanks so much!

already available for pre order...WOW..LOOK AT THAT PRICE

Old news, and those guys are charging way too much. The real pre-orders haven't even begun. That's not what the actual price will be. We speculate more like $170-$180 (depending on whether or not you attend -- attendee prices are cheaper, but we also need to pay CA sales tax... ugh). This is just a guess based on previous HT Pred prices on SS lately.

Price isn't revealed until the day the PPO's get started. It sucks, but most of us have already decided if we'll get this guy :p. He looks ferocious...

Thanks blade! This is the exact link I was looking for! Great post. And thanks again!

I tried for it today at about 5 seconds past 10AM PDT, and it said "sold out".

I called Sideshow up, they said the Attendee lot sold out in a matter of seconds.

Yeah, I was just reading about that on the Sideshow freaks facebook page. There are a lot of unhappy campers! A LOT of people missed out, gort literally sold in seconds. And to make matters worse, some of those who missed out on the attendee are going to try for the non-attendee.!!!!!
