New here. Have a few questions.

Hey, so i'm new here, and I really want to make a predator suit. I had a few questions for you guys. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

1. What materials do you make the skin with? Like latex or what?
2. Where can you get the materials?
3. How do you make castings?
4. Is there actually a legit functional combi-stick or wrist blade that there are plans (or a general idea) for?
5. Are there any good books on animatronics that pertain to predator-gear-building that you guys would recommend?


Like I said, any info would be much appreciated, and thank you all for your time.

Look around the huntorials... or use the "search" button to find info on the combistick, wristblades, and animatronics.... very few of them have been perfected, but you can find a few cool ideas on the Lair if you look.

I've been lookin around. The Mr. Incredible suit is a great idea, and unless I see something else thats better (unlikely) i'll be doin it. I've been tryin to get into animatronics for a while, i've even emailed Pete Mander askin what he thinks, but I imagine he stays pretty busy. I hope to find a way to make a wristblade and combistick. I have some ideas for the wristblade with some leaf springs, switchblade style. I don't know how i'm gonna do the combistick, I don't think they make telescoping poles that extend/retract with a button. That'd be pretty sweet though.

yea, he means an antenna. Brits use words slightly different than we do

Try to find a tripod for a video camera or a telescope.... you can use the legs from those to make one...

I was lookin at that the other day after reading a post where someone did that and ended up with a really nice combi-stick. I can't seem to find the kind that i'd need, but i'll be keeping my eyes peeled for one.

so yea. how do you make moulds? i'd like to start making a bio mask but i have no idea where to start. what kind of clay? what mould material? and what would I fill it with? sorry if i seem like a ******* with all the questions, im just juiced to get started ya know?

Probably best to search the net, lots of sculpting/moulding tutorials out there... you can even buy books. magic.
