New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

"Do you have a goldfish named 'Colin'? No, thought not..." :)

BEST. CHRISTMAS EPISODE. EVER. And the world NEEDS more Stax "...you will be OBLITERATED. May I take your coat?".

In an interview with one of the producers, it seems that this season we'll be getting more of that Victorian trio...including Strax.

If he's written as well as he was here, I'd be all over that.

Yea, he was about 1300 when Amy and Rory left. I'd like to know how much time has passed since as well.

Would love more Strax. Could really do with less of the other two.

Of course I can't find the source:angry...but I read somewhere last week that he'd been alone for about 300 years since Amy & Rory. It really jumped out in the episode that he said something about saving the universe for over 1000 years. If what I read was true, then he'd be closer to 2000.

Anyone have a canon answer for how old he was in 'An Unearthly Child'?

I like this one the best:

The thing I keep banging on about is that he doesn't know what age he is. He's lying. How could he know, unless he's marking it on a wall? He could be 8,000 years old, he could be a million. He has no clue. The calendar will give him no clues.Steven Moffat, SFX, May 2010

Without knowing anything, my guess was he had been brooding for a couple hundred years....Earth time that is. They wouldn't have mentioned it so much if it had been 5, 10, 15, etc...

That said the TARDIS would know how long it's been travelling. If he wanted to find out how old he was all he would have to know is his age when he stole it.

Not really, that was covered in dialog in The Doctor's Wife. The Tardis doesn't exactly understand time as we perceive it or even as the Doctor perceives it. Asking her would give you the same sort of direct and perfectly clear answer any man would get when asking a woman something very important...:love

This iteration perhaps but past iterations have had relative time keeping. Maybe "she" can't find it right now but there's gotta be a simple chronometer on that sucker! :lol
