New BMF coming

Can we see some more of this Falcon??

Hard to believe that's Hasbro. Looks incredible.

I'll try and get him to post his progress here.

Khit, sure....Im not a perfectionist. It would look better than the stickers:)

On another note....I go this piece in a grab bag of MF parts. Can anyone identify it?

Its part of a flat 6 porsche 930/5 engine....like some of the MF parts came from. Question is....its it a left over or it is hidden somewhere????????

That looks very, very similar to the Entex 1/8 Porsche 935 and from what I know about the Falcon only a very small part of this was used at the tip of the upper mandibles on the 32in Falcon. I'm not sure if this was used anywhere else on this particular Falcon though.

No scale is indicated but it's 4in shorter than the actual filming miniature and that is sometimes quoted at 1/48 scale. How accurate that is I can't tell.

The whole scale issues with the Falcon (and other ILM models) has been done to death... That being said if you take a 1/48 figure and place it next to the Hasbro it looks just about right... So in my estimation its is darn close to 1/48.

well... Its kind of loaded right. If the real deal (pick your falcon 5(ish) foot or 2.5(ish) foot) falcon and then whatever was used on the real needs to be scaled to the Hasbro. if you're going for the 5 footer then about 1/2 of the scale of whatever donor kit is what you'd be looking for - all of this is in the "ish". if it was 1/35 on the 5 footer then a 1/72 kit of the same subject - and so forth. if your going foer the ESB look and it was a 1/35 then a 1/48 would be "close"

Its never going to be exact, unless you 3d print the parts in the right scale.

Thanks for the info Jedi, :thumbsup
I guess i was looking for a starting point... but either way greeblies from both scales would look ok, i think.

Did some work lengthening the canopy today.
The ring is 5mm deep and has made a lot of difference.

Also stole an idea from Jaitea (thanks :)) and cut the bottom half of the canopy from the rest of the ship.
Its going to make it so much easier to scratch build the interior with that done.

On that note does anyone have any clear pics of the rear walls and other inside bits that I can print out to make that task a bit easier.
I've image googled for some but so far nothing really usable.
