New BMF coming

I spoke to my friend who made me the computer file stencil for the surface panels and we are going to find a way to make it a downloadable file for free on RPF. I've never tried to do something like that so any advice would be welcome, including if it would violate any terms of service of RPF.

I cut the windows out from the cockpit. Easy but tedious, a sharp scalpel blade and a fine toothed metal file is all you need, cutting this plastic is a doddle and once I cut and filed each part I used a stiff toothbrush to clean out the excess flaking and burs

After seeing how others have fared, I'm going to cut the sidewalls out as well. Besides, gluing parts to a styrene wall is so much less hassle

Not 100% but quite close to the two different side bits I posted earlier.

And @Robiwon are you making a nose cone with fixed window details and more in the overall length?

FZ6 is working on a new nose cone. All parts are almost done. Mike needs to get them and then will cast them up for sale.

From a vintage falcon buddy :)

I think he means were they from a vintage MPC falcon model or the Kenner toy?

I just returned from HobbyTown with some .015 styrene sheet and three bottles of XF-2 Flat White....I already had the Deck Tan and Flat Black:)

In other news, I tried a can of Montana Gold spray paint on the inside of the hull BEFORE washing. I left the paint for only 30 minutes, and it took some elbow grease to scrub it off using the coarse side of a washing up scourer.
I think it's promising, I've always had good experiences with the Montana Gold series.
I'm going to try again once the hulls are dried and cleaned, and then I'll leave the paint for a number of days and see how it holds up under a masking tape test

Polypropelyne pros & cons:

Pros!

-Easy to cut
-Cheap as hell, meaning cheap, nicely detailed model for us!
-Tough and flexible, it ain't gonna break anytime soon
-Fairly wide support and products for painting and gluing it, that aren't hard to get or horrendously expensive
-Lightweight, it's gonna need an internal support structure but it's not going to need two people to lift it when it's a complete model

Cons::

-Requires more effort than stuff we're used ta

:D
