New big-screen Star Wars Rey movie announced at SW Celebration 2023

Well…turns out all the media is wrong.

Mike Zeroh has delivered a MAJOR scoop.

It turns out that George Lucas is coming back to rescue the franchise!

Why is no one else reporting this MAJOR news??

Apparently, from what’s been reported, Mike Zeroh isn’t someone whose reports are, let’s just say, verifiable. I posted one of his videos here, asking if anyone heard about it and another member told about it. Unless something has changed in the couple of years that has made him be seen as a reliable reporter.

The man is a modern day Nostradamus…

Never have his videos veered off into the territory of click bait or wild unfounded speculation.

Remember when he accurately predicted that Keanu Reeves and Scarlett Witch would be the leads in a new Trilogy of Star Wars movies—when no one else was?? Only The Zeroh knows what’s really happening at Lucasfilm…

I apologoize. I didn‘t type out my sentence correctly. I meant to say his reports haven’t been able to be verifiable. Again, I don;t know if that has changed or not, I’m going by what another user told me a couple of years ago. And I haven’t heard anything about Keanu Reeves being in SW, be it from Mike or any other user for that matter (so, this is all news to me if it’s true).

Additional Edit: the drawbacks of typing on an iPad sitting upright.

I’m kidding around ;)

This is the best thing that could happen. Once the failure is complete and it all burns to the ground, there will be a sharp dividing line between pre- and post-Disney, and the past decade will be repudiated in the history books.

Let it all burn.
...and watch the Phoenix rise from the ashes:cautious::whistle:

IF any of the projects even make their way out of development before getting canceled, and that's a very big if, it won't redeem anything. It's over. It's been over for years. These announcements are a joke.
It's a shame there's not a "Rolling Eyes" Emoji for that SW debacle:rolleyes:

I wonder…

Since Rey is a Palpatine and has aged 15 years since TROS, will she have the early signs of developing the requisite Palpatine “Monster Face”?

I mean, genetics are what they are. Sometimes you inherit all sorts of things from your parents and grandparents that you would rather do without. I imagine “Monster Face” is an inevitability that comes with the territory when one is a Palpatine.

I'm curious about the other two movies that haven't had much discussion. Mangold's "First Jedi" movie set 25,000(?!) years ago and Filoni's movie, which seems to be the finale of the "Mandoverse" from what I understand. I find that strange because I thought Favreau had said recently they had no ending in mind and would basically keep making new Mando seasons for the foreseeable future.

My guess is they won't get the concept right. They'll make a movie about the first guy to figure out he has force powers. They'll make the wrong conclusion that force powers = jedi, which they don't. The Jedi are basically a private club. Meet the entry requirements (being force sensitive) and follow the rules and you're a member and can move through the internal ranks. Don't follow the rules and opt to leave and you're the same person with the same abilities, you're just no longer in the 'club'.

So, hopefully they get it straight, which I don't have much faith in.

My bigger guess is, like all the previous announced stuff, not all of these things actually get made. It's beyond terrible that the people they have in charge of this stuff have turned star wars movies into 'we'll believe it when we see it', and 'you've got to prove it's good first'. Literally, they have no credibility. Maybe they've reformed somewhat if Mangold is willing to commit to doing a second flick with them. But what happens there if Indy flops? Or one, or some, of the D+ shows?

Yes. With time and distance, a new generation will discover and be inspired by the Lucas Era, and the Disney Era will fade into the mists of history.

I was recently stunned when, independently, not one but TWO young coworkers of mine (one 18 years old, and one 22–and a girl) professed their love for the original TRANSFORMERS cartoon from 1984, and knew about things like Cosmic Rust and Autobot Spike. The old show is currently available for free via Hasbro on YouTube, which helps.

They don’t care about the Michael Bay movies, but they love a cartoon produced nearly 20 years before they were born.

Quality survives. Icons survive.

The real STAR WARS will survive. In time, and after we get some distance from this (as yet ongoing) disaster, history will set things right.

Yeah, I’ve always viewed Jedi and Sith as religious sects, but they don’t have a monopoly on the Force. That was also an issue I had with the PT because George almost made it seem like the Darkside and the Sith were synonymous. Unfortunately, he never really delved into what being a Sith really even meant.

Right...and, I guess, they also have a "Sith Club":p

Rey might not be an icon to you, but I've seen enough videos of little girls meeting her at Disneyland to know better.

But I applaud your flair for the melodramatic. You've pronounced Star Wars ongoing doom so often I'm starting to wonder if you're not a certain golden protocol droid.

Hasbro's 86 series also brought back the movie with accurate versions of Perceptor, Ironhide, Kup...

Each generation has *their* Star Wars. I remember talking to someone who was raised on Clone Wars, and they convinced me to sit for four episodes. It was terrible. A Rebel general was betraying the rebels, it was childishly obvious, they LOVED IT!

It was *their* Star Wars.

People who care about checkboxes over quality will love it just because of Rey. Any criticism, no matter how well explained, discussed, or true will have to contend with the intellectually lazy accusation of hating women to avoid addressing any legitimare criticism.

The best you can do is vote with your wallet.

And if it is great, then give it credit.

But if it is vomit, y'know, like a dog licking up its own vomit after already puking it up, then just be ready for a free psychiatric analysis from someone who will project all of their bias and phobias on you

Spot-on.

I do wonder why this is set 15 years later as opposed to 5 years or however long it’ll be since TRoS came out? To give time for Broom Boy to grow up?
I mean, he became a stand in for all the dangling threads of the ST. I would be kinda surprised if he didn't feature in some way.
