New batch of Factory Entertainment studio scale Star Trek ships

I would not want their Voyager model even if they paid me!

The prices are absolutely ridiculous! there are a ton of very skilled model makers out there that would do commissions for less that half that price.
From what i've seen of their actual builds it'll be far from perfection.

I just watched the Tested video showing their Voyager, and the quality is abysmally poor. For $18000 it should be damn perfect, but the build is full of errors.
I have been working on-off on a Voyager model for a few years, and I have studied photos of the filming model A LOT. And when I saw the thumbnail for the video I smiled for a few seconds, because the inaccuracies are so obvious and many. I know so many differences between the filming model and the CG model they made, and I have no clue what Factory Entertainment aimed for, because neither one looks like that.

Note: there is no frakking aztec-pattern on the real Voyager.

Gorgeous details up close. A lot of these details are no where to be found on FE's model. Not to mention some places like the back of Voyager should have curvature to it, but theirs is just flat.

The phaser strips should have actual detailing, not just lie on the hull like a brown turd.

I just checked out their webpage again. They've changed the photos where you can't click on them and see a close-up look at the flaws. Very telling. Thank goodness I still have the originals I copied from last year! Their "craftsmanship" is atrocious, especially oView attachment 1955678View attachment 1955679View attachment 1955680View attachment 1955681View attachment 1955682View attachment 1955683View attachment 1955684View attachment 1955685View attachment 1955686n their Excelsior. I would never pay the money they're asking for work of that low level.
Shoddy doesn't even begin to describe the quality of their work! Piss poor would be a better description!

Selling models of this crappiness for the prices they are is simply outrageous.
