New arrival, 1/2 scale Ironman/custom sculpt

Well guys, looks like you may be right, here is Dan's response..... Looks like Randy has some explainin to do..
I'm the last guy to buy recast stuff, so this ticks me off.

I was commissioned to make new arms and hands then build and light some. I'm not
familiar w the origin of the piece. I like the movies but don't follow the
merch. Star wars is my area. It was a fun project, but way too much work.

Dan, One other thing, I showed this statue off at the replica prop
forum. Guys there are accusing it of being a recast of the sideshow 1/2
scale statue. Did you sculpt this piece? I just wanted some
clarification. Obviously the arms are different, but wanted to know
about the body.
Thanks
Steve

I also emailed Randy again to get him to explain this. Can't wait to see what he has to say. Sorry that I told you that you guys were wrong, I guess I was duped. I should have known better!

I don't think anyone was accusing you of any wrong, I know my post was just to give you a heads up on the piece

Ok, this is what I was just told. This wasn't recast. He had a deal to get 8 castings only as long as they were altered, meaning the resculpted arms and hands from an inside source .We all know that sometimes backdoor items get out from the official source. They definitely aren't those crappy castings you see above. I was asked to remove names, so I didn't want you guys to think I was hiding anything, but I did edit my posts after I was asked.

Well with someone there , not saying Sideshow itself. Maybe they were reject castings.. who the heck really knows? That's all I have to go by right now.

I suppose if you really wanted to be sure, you could weigh it and compare the weight to the sideshow piece

the sideshow website says its 25.00 lbs (11.34 kg).

I dont mean to put the cat amongst the pigeons but the guys explanation sounds alittle far fetched to me.

at the end of the day, if you are happy with it, then thats whats important to you. Its just good to get it cleared up as to the true origins just so you know who you are dealing with and wether they can be trusted.

Saw this too, you can tell its a recast of a sideshow... Id say something is shady about it

Far fetched or not, I have no way to prove it otherwise. I'll just keep it , it's a pretty cool piece nonetheless.

If your happy with it and you feel it was money well spent then there you have it. I think it looks cool lit up.

i think it looks cool as well. It looks well done and the hands light up making it an improvement over the SS.:thumbsup

Wow, a guy with one post and he's an expert on recasts...lol

Your kidding right you judge me by one post WOW.

Do you know me? doesnt take a rocket scientist to really see this size build shape so try not hitting below the belt.

when in doubt ask. I wish i had I have seen recast I was out 250$. paid paypal there just as wrong as the recaster was he still sell his items.

BUT I love this >> was commissioned to make new arms and hands then build and light some. I'm not

what does it matter as long as he is happy with what he got? Its much more enhanced that sideshow, both hands light up, its way better than SIDESHOWS, so as a custom made item, I think its very cool....and way better than $2000 that SS charges...
