New 52 Mr Freeze (New Photos pgs 1 & 6)

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Small update, Here is the tank almost fully sanded. The side that isn't shown needs more sanding, but here is a pretty good look at what it will look like before painting.

note to self, never sand inside a shop, unless you want to get bondo fragments to cover EVERYTHING. It was really cold and very windy so I had not much of a choice though.

:) more to come gents

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Thanks Superboom!

Small update, Easter weekend so I didnt get much done.
I made a tape mannequin of myself, which was a pain in the butt! Anyway, it turned out alot shorter than me, but all I mainly need is the chest.

Also I got a couple of pressure gauges and took them apart for weight purposes. If I had not taken off the back, the shirt would most likely sag and look bad

Thanks for all the support guys!

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Sean- Thanks for that! its a little out of my price range but I'll research it and hopefully figure out how it works (maybe). It looks great!

To all of the people with experience on fabric and armor pieces (etc); what is the best way to glue foam and such to stretchy fabric? I would just do hot glue, but Texas weather in May is not too compatible.

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Maybe you can use a coffee can with warm water and dry ice inside, with the lid of course! You can put that inside the tank, it will produce a decent mass of smoke and will cost you almost next to nothing!

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Yeah for the smoke I have several options. I will go the dry ice route if I can't rewire my fog machine to a battery.

For now though I'm trying to figure out the best way to glue stuff to the under armor.

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Kool costume love the new 52 Freeze look!!! Very different, and never have I seen any Freeze's around here on haloween or Comiccon.

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Dry ice inside a closed container is a poor decision. Dry ice is sublimating carbon dioxide, and if you reduce the oxygen content of the helmet below 8% total you'll be knocked out pretty quick. Just a heads-up. White smoke you can make a few ways, none of which I can think of are very safe. I'll get back to you on that if I find anything.

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Thanks man,

There are ways of making fog with pure glycerin and water, but it still needs to be heated up somehow.

Also thanks to Almneo30

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

I've been followin' SDUK"s freeze build then found yours i agree /w/ BannaBlitz's comment dry ice is toxic and can kill ya. Carbon dioxide is poision to our bodies a small fog machine is ideal keep up th' good work brah.:popcorn

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Yeah, I knew it sounded a little scary, but I have been wanting to go the fog machine for a while. I'm going to use a tutorial from instructables to rig an ac/dc outlet to 2 6 volt lantern batteries.

Small update, I added light gels to the goggles. The bad thing is that my visibility level is almost ZERO. I'm going to go to the theatre again to see if there are any thinner gels. If not, I will try and do a type of ASM honeycomb thing, but, frankly, I don't really wanna do the work for that.

Also does ANYONE know if black SILICON adheres and looks good on under armor and lycra materials?

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

what is light gels?

I stuck latex to a pvc catsuit for my fiancee's Wasp costume which worked out fine but I dunno if it would be the same for silicon on lycra
