New 52 Mr Freeze (New Photos pgs 1 & 6)

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

ahh.. thanks!..

do you mean the part on the right breast? (left side of pic on chest).

At first I was thinking you could use glass vial from any chemistry/surplus store...(was even gonna make the hike and ship it out to you if your found one at my local surplus store)

American Science & Surplus : Items Just Off the Truck

maybe cut off the end of a test tube...seal ends (wax/cork..whatever) fill with colored whatever..

SMALL TEST TUBES

but after seeing pic.. I think it'll be even easier that that..

any clear plastic tubing in your desired ID/OD will work..

if you have access to a metal (or wood) lathe.. you could quickly turn two decorative end 'caps' for it... to seal in the liquid...

then mount/secure to you chest piece/armor..

similar to this:
TUBES
but make your own end caps..

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

no problem!..

what are the 'size(es)' you are looking at for these?

length?
OD?
ID?

might be able to whip p some end caps on the lathe when weather gets nice if you can find a substitute. :)

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

In the event you need one more suggesstion for your vials, I was going to throw in those you find in a level. They can be as cheap as a buck in the bargain bin at most tools stores or even dollar aisles at dollar stores. As said, its cheap, but if you're looking for a particular color, I'd go with xl97's idea. Little corn syrup and coloring will get a nice, thick ooze.

Thats really considerate of you! but i think i will just seal the caps that come with it on, and then make some foam coverings for aesthetic appeal (Time's running out for me)

Superboom- that was actually my first thing to look at, but the diameters were way too small

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

sounds like a perfect solution!

I have also seen some candy (easter) that had similar containers... (just an FYI in case you need to order on-line or something.. quick candy isle search might help)

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Okay a few updates!
I drilled a hole in the top of the tank and put a tube in it for smoke to come out. I sealed it with silicon, and then covered some more of the tank with it as well for a iced effect.

Then I got the web belts painted and ran them through some O-rings. I haven't glued them to the suit yet, as I'm waiting for the tube to come in. And i made the thing that the tube runs through and glued it on.

And I also got some tube clamps for the neck piece

Okay! More to come later (I have only two weeks left!)

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Small Update: The tubes came in! They are a little too thick, but, unless I can thin them and keep them watertight, they will have to do.

Also the thing the hose goes through is a little too thick..so I'm going to work at making that a little smaller because, honestly, it looks really stupid right now.

More to come soon!

Man, I'm feeling the pinch too. I had my wife order a piece for my suit substrate one day, and low and behold, she managed to ship it to our old address we lived at two years ago. Thankfully the people there still had the package and hadn't returned it. That was awkward... Thanks, honey! :facepalm

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Yeah..I'm having problems with the fog machine too..it's a 400 watt machine I believe, and the inverter I have is as well..but the amp limit in the inverter is 3.48, whereas the machine uses 3.5 amps, so it barely is too much! I guess I should buy an inverter (although I really don't want to :/)

It's kindof stressing me out!

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Small update: I havent taken much pictures because its been crazy this week (36 page packet in 6 days)! Between this, school, and pre-prod. on a film, my life is crazy right now.

I looped some belts through the suit to hold the tank (of which...sadly...will not be housing a smoke machine anymore... :( )

What I will do, though as an alternative for the tank, is to wire up speakers and a microphone so that I can have a booming voice. Only time will tell though.

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Hey Knight. We just got back from the Con; didn't see any Mr. Freezes, but it was stupid crowded. That was the most poorly coordinated venue I've ever attended. We went from 9am, stood it line til 1120, rabbited upstairs to see the Fringe q&a, then all hell broke out. It turned into a BS-fest of standing in line just to stand in line to get into something. Several times I grabbed my wife's hand and just cruised through the idiots to get some space! Anyway, it was a mess, we left at about 10 minutes to 3 as my wife started getting a bit claustrophobic (and she isn't by nature). Sorry we didn't see you, but hope you post some pics. We got very few just because there was nowhere to stand to get a full body shot!

Yeah that's unfortunate! Even if there wasn't room, people tried to get pics of me anyway. Which I'm glad people loved it, because my paint was a little bit too thin (I hadn't bought enough) and part of my cheapie bald cap ripped. But after much stress I had fun and people enjoyed me.
About the con..yes it wasn't too organized, but, compared to the year before (I stood in a conroy line for 4.5 hours last year) ...lol. It's a relatively new con anyway I think so they just need a few years to iron it out.
I will post pics sometime tomorrow as I sort though! I was in a group with a Chewbacca, robin, phantasm, mad hatter, Katniss and of course me.

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate that looks friggin AWESOME!!!! once you get the paint job right it will be perfect!!! get some shots at home with a proper paint job so we can appreciate all the detail and effort .... well done though man, it is epic

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

That suit looks really good just for the bald get some rubber mask grease paint it will help blend it in to your skin really good.

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Thanks men! I'm looking to buy some mehron body/face paint along with their bald caps which are $20 dollars...
The day of the con, I only had about 30 min to apply paint so it wasn't too well done. When I don the suit again (soon) I will apply paint correctly.

SDUK, what type of bald cap did you use?

Re: New 52 Mr Freeze

Damn, that does look cool! What time did you guys go?
By the by, that's the most space I've seen behind anyone so far! I might have to fake a full body shot as the one shot my wife got of me was buried in the crowds. You can barely see my chest and head, and I'm 6'5".
