New 52 Joker Mask: Plaster Bandages and Clay

Hi guys, I'm currently in the process of putting together a New 52 Joker Mask out of cardboard, plaster bandages and air drying clay. It was a bit of a last minute thing and it's the first time I've tried something like this so excuse the questionable quality and schoolboy errors.

The thing has turned out a bit heavier than I expected and the bottom layer appears to be getting flimsier as I add more clay for detailing. Any tips for strengthening it/reducing potential cracking /adding more support ? I'll be strapping it to my face on Wednesday. Thanks in advance.

Dont sweat it man.As long as you're having fun and your happy with it thats all that matters.

Despite the fact that there are some very talented (and often professional) artists posting on this site, I seem to enjoy the builds that are more
trial and error like this one.

ALL of us are learning and growing in our hobby, or at least we should be, with each costume we make.

I guarantee you if you ask some of the people with drop dead gorgeous, absolutely remarkable builds they'll tell you it didnt happen overnight and that they made plenty of attempts that they werent altogether happy with.

Im looking forward to seeing your progress shots and end results here.

Thanks for the kind words. I decided to lace the entire thing with a PVA glue mixture and it's strenghtened it a great deal. Still mulling over ways of adding support to it for when I wear it to avoid it slipping off and breaking.
