Thanks for the encouragement! I agree, do it up busy. Though right after this one, I'm doing the same kit for an old friend in CA who is terrified of lighting. Otherwise, he's a great modeler, really good with the air brush. I'm thinking about sending him this one and doing the one he sent for myself later.I've always loved anything '20,000 leagues under', and you are doing a great job on this Nautilus !
I say go whole hog..It will look awesome thru the windows.. leather bound books with maroon spines
Just one ocd thing, a like coloured Sharpie run around the outside of the carpets to hide the paper edge (thmbsup)
Carry on ...I'll sit here and watch.. I don't know why I cant get my builds finished ???
Cheers
Hey brother, you are correct...very limited viewing angles through the windows. and with the lighting, it would be extreeeeemely difficult to leave the upper hull loose to remove for viewing. So yeah, I should be selective and practical about the details inside. Those rugs really add a lot. I'd say if you have gone this far you might as well go all the way.
However, I am curious how much will be visible once built
Not knowing anything about the kit, is there a way to remove panels for viewing or is there only going to be a limited sight line?
If limited you may want to dry fit things and just worry about the parts that can be seen through the windows without going too crazy on stuff that you have no sight line to. But then again, you've always got pics for bragging rights and there is something cool about details you would never see. It didn't stop Bandai from doing stuff like. Even if you can't see it you know it's there
However if you can remove a section or the top or something to allowing viewing the interior, then definitely go for it
Many thanks new friend! Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I love the work space. Directly behind my work area, there was a work bench the last home owner had built with a vise, cabinets, power outlets, its awesome. I've lined the bench space with cardboard for a spray booth. basements are awesome...hobby area, laundry room, storage and home gym!I love the great workshop you have alots of room and lots of lighting. As you said no rush and you come to items as you left them exactly. Look forward to seeing the rest of your build as well as the Jupiter 2 and B-9. Take care.
Hey, thanks for dropping in! My aging mom is in Neenah as are a lot of my cousins. I landed a job in Oshkosh and bought a place there. Where are you? And yes, winter here is waaaay different than AZ. But I've lived in this sort of weather before. I'll re-acclimate+1 for Wisconsin! WOO HOO! LOL (winters suck!)
Where in WI did you locate to?
Cool! ThanksI'm a couple hours south then I take it? (Milwaukee)..
But if you ever need anything... let me know!

It seems like they had something at the dinner table...but Ned found the grain alcohol on the specimen table! Would you like that drink with or without the fabulina oculina?Perfect!
That room looks pretty comfy. Did I spy a mini bar? I'll take a drink
