GUNS!! Great to hear from you brother, Thanks for the comp! I watched 20k a few times before the cable got hooked up in the new place so I decided to pull the fish out of mothballs and do it up, I got another one to do right after this for a buddy in CA. He's a good modeler and really good skill with paint but has zero with lighting so...not that I'm that good with it but he's a bud. What's been going on, on your work bench? I can't recall what you were working on last we talked. ISD? Got a thread? Would like to see what you're up to. Happy Holidays my friend!

G’day Ross,

Not sure how I missed the start of this thread but I’m glad to have caught up.
Happy to see you working on & sharing another terrific project, as well as hearing life’s going good for you mate ! :D.

Looking forward to seeing how far you’ll take this - knowing your penchant for super detailing my friend !

Happy holidays GT! Love your most recent build, it looks great! My work bench is currently being cleaned and packed up...we bought a house! I'll finally have a dedicated hobby room instead of trying to build out of the spare bedroom, lol. The Zvezda is in mothballs, as is my current build, a Bandai Blocakde Runner with Ant's lighting kit. Things are on hold until late January at least...then once we're unpacked and I'm set up the model factory will crank up again haha. Hope you and yours are well this holiday season friend!

So, as a true fan of 20k the interior wouldn't be right without the iconic book stand. "Professor, your book is brilliant, but it lacks scope. The real story of the ocean depths begins where you left off"
And the serving table. I'm pretty sure there were two, but I decided to just do one larger one. I think it gets the job done though.
I've added various greeblies that give it the sense of a little clutter as depicted in the film, not accurate but conveys that image. More of that to follow of course. I want the observer to have a LOT to look at. Although I was just test fitting for placement and I neglected the round couch around the pipe in this shot, I think image number 4 really hits a bullseye.

Oh crap...I replied to the wrong post which was only part of what you posted...Congrats on the new digs! I bought this place for the 3.5 car garage for when I get another Fastback to build, there was just a decent house that came with it. I was used to working on the kitchen table and having to pick up and put away when I was done. Having a dedicated area where you can just leave it is awesome. You're gonna love that aspect. On another note, I'm driving 4 hours to Minnesota in the morning to look at a 65, but even if I bring it home I won't touch it till spring. It's a lot different in WI than AZ...is cold as a well diggers ass here

I can't wait to get the dining table and chairs in there, that will really busy that end of the salon. I'm going to "attempt" a set table, plates, etc, and I think one of those cabochons will work good for that fish bowl that was on the table

By the way, and I can't believe I forgot...thanks for the approval on this build. yours is one of those opinions among those here I place a high value on(y)

I keep think of little things to enhance what will be seen through the two large windows on the sides. Also down through the hatches. taking my time...

finally got the table and chairs. the sprue for the chairs was so thick it was hard not breaking the legs off the chairs getting them off...argh
Also got some brass rod installed for the red curtains that flank the side windows, but...not sure what to make the curtains out of to make them look right, hang and bunch up properly. I'm open to suggestions my friends. Oh, and a very merry Christmas to all

Excellent!

As far as the curtains, I have used paper to do "waving" flags/banners on gaming miniatures. You can bend it into shape and it should stay

Also, the benefit of the paper is you could print any pattern you want on it if you don;t find a good pattern in any of the fancy papers

if you go with a cloth you might have to do a wire frame to get it to bend where you want it or soak it in watered down glue after bending?

Also, any fabric used at that scale may look too out of scale

Having a devil of a time with the curtains...tried the watered down glue thing on tissue paper Korban suggested but I botched it. then I tried aluminum foil...not quite right. here is a really thin red bandana chopped up...kinda ok but I'm not happy with it. Think I'll try the tissue paper again but it'll take practice. I really wanted to get the other wall up so I could get the lighting part going.
