Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Ah OK, thanks for the clarification Martyn.
I have just overlaid our drawings to check and they are slightly different...
I tried to use reference pics as much as possible (in combination with your drawings of course), so it looks like I have taken a marginal detour from your drawings in this instance. The angle on the top engine mount is pretty close, but the lower one does have a difference of approx 15-20mm to the flat area on the bottom.
If adjustment is required, there is no problem with matching the angle of the mount to the engine casting though...

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Hey Fred, your pics of Martins replica are the best out there, do you happen to have larger version of them?? :)

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Simon i cant access Photobucket right now, but, if you look at the two long rod parts, with a bulbous end that run parallel to the cockpit, also 8rad bud......not sure if you already had em.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Should be the propshaft assembly on B sprue mate. Looks to have been cut at the tranny section, and the shaft is layed down above.....hard to tell in the pic.

Cheers Paul, eh, you're quite likely more right than I was, that side view pre-dated my top and front/rear stuff by several years. I revised those but hadn't got as far as revising the side drawing.

The difference I found last night was overall length of the lower engine though, not just the flat section. Martin's casting is 174 mm from the front edge to the nozzle seat. My drawing showed about 18.9mm.

I found the Part it's #5, long thin piece thats used twice on each side. Cut into 3 pieces and all 3 pieces are used.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Thanks Lee and Lee. I really need to start wearing my Glasses. Vosper parts start looking like 8rad parts after a while of staring when you're tired.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

hehe ... one thing I must learn, is never to expect some of the parts too be obvious to everybody :)

I recognised those 8-RAD cables right away, since I just built the Dispatch Pods .. but though ... hey those parts are recognizable to everybody, so no need to point it out .... :D

I guess it's like "There are no stupid questions" .... so "There are no stupid Kit ID's" ... just bring 'em on :D .. I know I'll try to

Good work everybody .. the velocity in this thread is mindblowing

Like Niels, thought you guys would have snapped those up, and yes, they are used on the smaller Probot pod lol.
I dont get into the thread much but a quick check in and those parts jumped out was all.
Wish i could find more guys, but my Optician is due another visit soon, before i paint anymore models at least LOL.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Thanks Fred!
You could just put them on a site like Flickr/Photobucket and post a link (that's what I do :))

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Hey Lee,
There's actually 2 more 8Rad pieces in that same section. I was very surprised as it's never 'that easy' :)

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Yeah those two L'il square pieces in between the jack and the shuttle pieces look exactly like Vosper pieces on the pic I used. I know the vosper ones were used on the cockpit. Just got the Tamiya Chevrolet truck in today so stay tuned for some more parts. Also found where the esso tanker was used on the interior. Woohoo!!!
