Narcissus Builders Club N Stuff.

I'm not gonna call it idiot-proof, I've already broken a couple of pieces after all. :lol But it's the next best thing - if you build around the armature then it squares itself, pretty much. Paul, I'll email you some detailed stuff tomorrow, but I'm happy to sign off on the CNC files.
No worries Martyn. Good to hear everything is finally coming togther as planned!.:thumbsup

Panic ?

Not on my side... still LOVE that thread, even if I had to read at least 4 pages to see what has happened since I last visited you guys ! (too much to do in real life... Gosh...)

As always, can't wait to see more... Keep up the good work !

Fred

I have a big RL thing taking up all my time till after the weekend, but I should have the CNC side of the second proto done next week. Right now I have it covered in brown acrylic timber putty - it looks a bit Shankotastic. :lol

Every time I look at that pyro on my desk I think of you, Simon - really! Just too damn busy with work, then always knackered to do hard, scary stuff like extending pyro noses of an evening... but I WILL get back in the saddle.

But this Narc is amazing. I once had my mitts on the original Aliens version of the model, in pretty weird circumstances. In Piccadilly, London, about 15 - 20 years ago there used to be this Aliens experience thing. The punters would get taken to the basement and get chased around by dudes in Alien suits. At the street entrance, they had this tiny prop exhibit, which just sat there for years. You could go in there for free and there'd be nobody, no guard, nothing. They had hypersleep caskets, a couple of suits, a gun or two in tall display cases. On the top of one of the cases, which was a man's height, I saw some object sticking over the edge. Reached up and pulled it out a bit - and **** me, it was a Narcissus studio model. Loads of the styrene panels were warping off it. I thought, '*****, does anyone even want this?' The thing had just been left to rot on top of this display case, unguarded...but I was a good boy and put it back.

An amazing piece of engineering? Or an ugly piece of junk with a twisted spine and a large crooked nose?

Ahhh.... the trocadero..... memories. Hey the next time you find stuff like that.. Grab it and run... Run and don't stop... K?

Ha ha.. oh, the former, naturally.

The Trocadero. Yes! Completely forgot the name of the place. It's been too long since I was in that town...

Hey kids!
Question for anyone currently collecting kit parts for a Narcissus build.
Two of the kits needed only require ONE piece from each kit, but the kits contain TWO pieces. One is the tough to find Airfix SRN1 and the other is the fairly easy MPC R2. I have a SRN1 kit already and thus an extra piece. Does anyone have an R2 and want to swap parts?

Ok... So forgive me if we have already id'd any of these but as far as I can see we only need these parts for the underside well. If anyone knows these please chime in.

I've got an R2 somewhere, Lee, I'll have a look. But Simon will probably have a better one, mine is half built IIRC.

Just got my magnets FINALLY, yesterday. Pro tip, don't cut your magnet recesses before they arrive, you won't get a good fit; these are supposed to be 10mm x 3mm but are more like 9mm x 2mm. Oh well, plenty strong enough. Will finish up the hatch/hull section tomorrow and put the sheeting on. I knew that if I tried it before then I'd drop that section and smash it, lol.

Simon, did you get that replacement sheet cut? I can just make my own bits but if you have it, might as well use it.

The Orange piece on your pic is from the 8Rad :)

Let me know Martyn, doesn't have to be super pretty as it's half hidden.

Thanks!

The center yellow piece has been bugging me. I think it's two pieces, but I'm not sure. The right half kinda looks like the Leopold barrel base.

To me it looks like the end of a B-58 engine. Those were used ALOT in the UK by the Thunderbirds crew. I have an Aurora piece and while it's not 'the piece' it's close.
